Not sure why you fellas get worked up about what Poch says in a presser?

You know how these things work, right? Journalist asks leading question along the lines of, "Do you think it's fair that the Eredivisie has postponed a whole round of league games to help Ajax rest and prepare while the Premier League has done nothing for English clubs?". Poch replies that no, he doesn't think it's fair. Journalists then collectively turn Poch's answer into the headline about him complaining bitterly abut how unfair it all is while conveniently omitting to mention that he was merely responding to a leading question.

As to the two days / three days thing, by my calculation there was a tad over 72 hours between the end of the FA Cup semifinal and the beginning of the CL game. If you only want to count full days, fair enough.

Doubt anyone is particularly worked up mate. As far as I’m concerned the Spurs tie is long gone now and we - fans, players, manager, etc - moved on quickly from it thanks to having the title race to focus on.

You’re right about journalists asking leading questions but looking at the quotes, he’s left himself a bit open to accusations of hypocrisy. I doubt he’s arsed though and we’ll all find something else to focus on soon enough.

I think most people are just winding you up, we'd be hard pressed to blame Spurs for the PL/FA giving City no help whatsoever in the scheduling. You know, despite being the only club in all 4 competitions for a significant length of time.

I think it's fair for City fans to point at the 4 day advantage you had for the first leg ,since that was brought up. If anything the journalists are the hypocrites for deciding to make a deal of it on Spur's behalf, where they barely mentioned it for our game. Must be good being the media darlings.

I’m not sure it’s quite the sane thing Sam. We had an FA Cup semi against a team Spurs were due to play in the league that same weekend so naturally that game got postponed. There’s nothing the authorities can do about that. I’ll confess to not hearing these latest comments but he’s made a point previously of how other European leagues move league fixtures around to help any teams they have left in European competition - I’ve often seen German and Spanish teams get their league fixtures brought forward to a Friday night if they have a European game the following midweek - whereas Premier League teams never get that same help. He’s not the first manager to complain about it. Pellegrini did it in his last season with us, fielding a scratch team against Chelsea in the FA Cup in protest.

Liverpool played twice on Friday before CL this season. Tonight and before Porto. Never ever anyone else had that privilege in PL.

shocking by spurs ??

and being a team that wins great matches and not finals and silverware sounds like man city of old ??? always the bridesmaids hoping to catch the bouquet and being next
