Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

So no goal awarded because ref says handball, VAR can't confirm or deny if there was a handball therefore can't overrule the no goal decision?

First 30 minutes we were excellent. Should have been 3 up. We quickly ran out of gas and they built up a head of steam. Still not sure about the disallowed goal. Very suspect that Gillett originally disallowed it. How ? From where he was positioned did he see a handball? Think Pep would have exploded if they'd equalised at the end.

Imagine if that Spurs chance went in at the end!

They can’t see whether Haaland touched it with his arm, but they decide to disallow it anyway. Fucking wankers.
Ref did that VAR didn't overturn his decision, there was a whistle as Haaland ran off celebrating.

The question that needs asked is how the fuck the ref seen Haaland handball it in between the two spurs defenders handballing it.

Also, how can VAR not overturn a bad decision like that but the stupidest part is they took that long knowing full well they couldn't overturn it anyway.

Fucking stupidity

That ghastly VAR call at the end kinda ruined my mood a bit.

Will always take a win away at Tottenham. Brilliant 1st half, terrible second half.

Doku and Khusanov were great. Fucking refs took away a Haaland brace.
This VAR shite is getting worse. It sucks all the joy out of the game.

What a strange game. Should have been out of sight at half time and lucky to not throw it away second half. I’m not sure how much of that was Spurs being completely shit first half and then being much better second.

Great win and very much needed.

Doku excellent first half. khusanov and Dias looked good together. Ederson probably won us the points with that save.

I would have been livid if they scored at the end after that VAR. Ridiculous that the ref didn’t give the goal when he can’t see.

Why wasn't there a review for handball on Spurs?

If the ref really didn't allow the goal on the pitch then I get - even if I disagree with - VAR not upending that decision. But if there wasn't a goal on the pitch, don't you have to review the Spurs repeatedly handling the ball in the same sequence?
The first handball was theres. The ref thought haaland handled it first, which was a clear and obvious error. Should have been a penalty. In any event, if it brushed Haaland's hand it was high up and shouldn't have mattered anyway

they didnt dissallow it. they stayed with the refs decisio although i thought it was pretty obvious on the second movement it hit his shoulder/upper chest if anything. on the first movement their player had his arm over haalands and there was no way erling could have touched it

that said…..their defender juggles it with 2 hands when he goes chest to chest with haaland so its a fucking penalty and not once did commentary even mention it
