Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I reckon Eddie is addicted to taking risks in the same way some people are addicted to tightrope walking between tall buildings. I don't mind - it makes him what he is - a brilliant GK - the best sweeper keeper on the planet.

I know we got the 3 points and thats all that matters but the truth is we were shocking against the worst Spurs side Ive seen in years. Match should have been over at half time. The half hearted efforts to win the loose balls, the loose passes, the wrong decision making. Absolutely suicidal at times. We only won that because Spurs were more shit than us. Our levels have dropped so much. Just hope Pep can work his magic again.
Spurs have just come off 3 wins and we never win there so I wager that’s a good performance considering our last two games.

Ederson only really had to make that one save, though. You expect your keeper to make a save like that in every away game. They had a decent 10 mins spell where they kept us in a bit, and Spence gave Nunes a bit of trouble, but they were never relentlessly coming at us and that outball to Doku was always on. Thought Spurs' subs actually made them weaker and once Foden and Bernardo came on they didn't really have much of a sniff until that weird VAR nonsense at the end.
To diverge for a second - that Spence fella has had a journeyman career, but is some player. I was glad to see Maddison go off. A well deserved win - should have been three, maybe four up at HT and we were robbed by the ref of a crucial second.

Not how I saw it. I thought we were shite second half after an excellent first half.

Not an easy watch that half. We won though and that’s all that matters at the end of the day.

Shout to nunes , think he made a huge difference today

Great 3 points ,but can´t recognise this Pep team . No pressing , no control over the game , so soft on all the 50-50 balls. Spurs were all over City in the second half. Can´t wait for the summer to see ,which signings are we getting. Wouldn´t guess Pep is coaching this team if i didn´t know it. Top 4 is all that matters now.
Are you not interested in us winning the FAC?

Imagine how toxic this thread would be if that final Spurs cross had been stuck in?

Fine lines - hopefully we'll be top 4/5 with points to spare. I'm confident that we will (despite tonight, though, not because of it).

I couldn’t watch the game tonight but just seen the highlights on MoTD.

Very interesting VAR decision for Haalands second goal “no conclusive evidence that it was NOT handball” therefore it is handball. What kind of f….d up logic is that ?

Anyway, well done boys, three important points.

Guilty unless proven innocent.
That makes sense as a "law"...

It is logical in that if it can’t find enough evidence, it won’t overturn the on field refs decision

What was illogical was the referee giving it in the first place. Neither him or the assistants had any better an angle to judge it.

That's the Spurs away ghost we'll and truly buried now.
Klanfield next please.
Khusanov is a beast.
Eddie was great.
Doku if only he could finish a game like he starts one( still great though)
Credit to Pep to for benching Phil,Kev, Bernardo and Gundo. CTID

If they scored that equaliser...

Happy about the win, especially at their ground. But that VAR at the end is a shambles, it's hit haalands chest and upper arm, which is by his side, then hit both of their hands.

Grealish cameo, hope to see more of him at the weekend
