Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

It's hard to be positive when it's every week. As soon as a team puts a little bit of pressure on us we crumble. We don't have an identity or style of play and look completely lost. It's all too safe and cautious. It's boring to watch, and the club wonder why there's a drop in capacity for midweek Champions League games.
We could be 2 up at half time on Wednesday { 4 up on aggregate} yet we will still play like rabbits in headlights at the start of the second half.
In previous seasons we were a second half team piling on the pressure and scoring 4, 5 or 6 goals. Nowadays we are more likely to concede 2 or 3.

Let’s be honest, if they rule that out down the other end, ‘its bent!’
No, because we have all seen goals chalked off for that kind of challenge, we've even seen penalties given for a defender kicking the calf of an attackers leg.
We are not idiots. We watch the game and know what is the "usual" outcomes in certain situations.
Only, that doesn't happen with City's games.

I am not blaming Pep for that. Was the spineless cunts on the pitch.
Threw it away.
Chasing the game we played a midfield of Rodri Nico Bernardo. We bought Foden on 87 minutes and Marmoush on 93. We were shite from the first minute after the HT team talk. We played walking football throughout. We've had awful performances against rags, Bodo and now Spurs. We're on a terrible run of form that now goes back more than a month, and the team is getting worse not better.

City's fanbase is now really soft and entitled. That's what bothers me more than anything else.

It was very disappointing not to win but 2-2 at Spurs is not a disaster. The game went against us and yes we should have done better but the Football Gods were also loaded against us.

What to say. Didn't deserve anything But - I don't what the rules are anymore. Centre forward left without even a booking. Kev got penalised for doing the same thing that Solanki did against the dippers. And in balance Rods should have been sent off.
I don't know what the rules are anymore. They apply them when they feel like it. How that's not a penalty on Erl.
That's said Pep sat on his hands for 30 mins and kept Semenyo on the left too long.
Erl might as well have a rest if he's not able to do anything. Give Mamoush some time. Can't do any worse.

John, but it was not like he bottled the role, this is the young kid who seems to play every game ;-)
Sorry Gaz - it wasn't meant to come across as hanging him out.
Not his fault at all. It just makes more sense, to me, to play your 2 FBs who've played together regularly alongside a new CB pairing.
Pep's just been SO weird the last 18 months

Ive said this before after the Sunderland game Pep didnt seem to like the flair and tricks the lads were doing.
Today it seemed Pep had another go at Cherki on the sideline.
Could the players be bored of his regimental style, he gets them in at half time and bollocks them for being entertaining and trying things. The players come out second half pissed off.

Just a thought
I'm pretty sure Pep was having a go at Cherki because he'd just gone down for the second time holding his knee only to say he was fine, and Pep was making the point that every time he does that we go down to 10 for 30 seconds.

I would say Guehi,Rodri, Donna,Khus,Cherki,Dias are elite players. The rest are average or above average. A top coach on top of his game would get better performances. Looking at the Arsenal squad, they’re full of elite players, mentally strong and well coached. We have no chance of the title. That’s three back to back shit away performances.
You’re playing fast and loose with the term elite there lad. Guehi hasn’t competed for the big trophies, Rodri isn’t the player he was 2 years ago, Khus is as raw as it gets and there’s no way Dias makes that classification.

Crosses came in - he's just out muscled or too slow to react to them. He doesn't even look that interested or committed to the team cause. His body language is terrible.
Which crosses? The fullbacks never went past the halfway line all game and therefore we had no width. Be careful what you wish for. Playing anywhere else, he would be scoring 30 a season. We are ruining him

Amazing that the Spurs 1st goal isn't more of an issue. It's a foul, nothing else, and then, despite Solanke not actually touching the ball, they award the goal to him. Corruption from corrupt cunts.

I would love to know what's going on at half-time in City's dressing room. It's been happening for over a year now. Are they trying to keep their composure and control the game but just can't? If so, fuck that off. Just come out aggressive and fight for a bit to counter the expected increase in intensity from the opponents - or just be ultra conservative and kill the game. I dunno. Surely just anything other than whatever this is every other game. It's so predictable. Genuinely disappointed with Pep that he hasn't gotten on top of this.

We’re better than Arsenal man for man. Arteta plays a boring style of football to get the maximum from his side which is why they’ll win the league this season.

We’re in denial about the football we play and seem unable to accept we’re equally as boring as Arsenal. Yet we play a style that limits our best players.
he did it when he arrived with square pegs in round holes to suit his system… Madness that any manager wouldn’t play to his strengths (the players)
