Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Was there a VAR image of the off-side shout for their first goal?
Looked like it was in real time and in the one quick replay shown,
but i can't recall a VAR image with the lines being drawn or even one of those soppy cartoon things.
Perhaps i missed it.

City's fanbase is now really soft and entitled. That's what bothers me more than anything else.

It was very disappointing not to win but 2-2 at Spurs is not a disaster. The game went against us and yes we should have done better but the Football Gods were also loaded against us.
Mate spurs waved the white flag but we decided to have a stroll instead. That was a city team that had zero ideas and zero energy. It was slow, boring and timid. Absolutely not acceptible.

“City fans are really soft” then refers to a nonsensical and non-existent concept of “the football gods” to explain that performance.

FFS.

Not sure what the hell that 2nd half performance was, but the players didn't seem that arsed anyway.

Sleepwalked into the 2nd half, with no urgency, no edge and nowhere near the commitment required to be in any title race.

A pathetic, soft, limp and rudderless effort allowing a frankly poor side to hang around and giving them every encouragement to come back in the game.

We look like we have no leaders out there and had 3 or 4 hiding from the ball. Talk of a title push is frankly quite laughable. Haaland again absolutely junk, Semenyo - bar his goal - terrible, Rodri 2 yards off it and the subs added nothing. Far too many soft arses in this squad I'm afraid and oh for a Fernandinho in the central area to add some bite. It pains me to say it but we are soft. We are also as close to United as we are to Arsenal in the table. A sobering thought for the club that's won 1 in the past 6 league games, and will fold and shit themselves at Anfield next week.

Play like that on Weds and Newcastle are in with a real chance. You simply can't trust this team atm.
That was the most inept in-play management, ever seen...Pep wearing a Palestinian scarf in the same week then not making press conferences??....has his arrogance taken over.....also Foden looked like someone had taken his dinner money off him at play time...wake up!!

This has been going on about 18 months now, no matter who plays in the back four it's the same old story!

We have players who are made of wet bog roll and collapse mentally when we concede and its inevitable that we will concede again.
Our defence today was made up of a guy playing out of position (who's been excellent), a 21 year old, a guy making his second appearance and a guy who's barely played all season (although he can't defend), and then another guy playing out of position. I thought they did OK considering.

The first goal shouldn't count and the second, while not defended brilliantly, is a worldie.

How did you cope in the 1980s and 1990s?

Weak.
Actually think it was easier when city where shit because didn’t expect anything.

When you see over pampered millionaires strolling around not giving a fuck I find it far more irritating personally.

The moment in the first half where cherki had 15 yds of space with no one near him, driving towards the penalty area...options either way and he tried a scoop pass that gave possession away...its that type of shit the Pep was talking about the other week. Cherki is on the pitch to ein football matches...not entertain by trying needless shit....

Be serious or fuck off

Recent performances of players who know their manager is off at the end of the season. All got a bit of the “what’s the point?” Attitude about it

Players are majorly responsible for this. Not just Pep and tactics.
Slow and dithering on the ball then getting pressure and losing it.
Careless passing, even simple ones, to the opposition.
So easily dispossessed.
Headers - most go to the opposition. They are awful and we seem to just aimlessly head the ball rather than bring it down and control it.
Limited movement into space even when playing at walking pace.
Poor ball control.
No idea where the goal is for most players.
Lack of sharpness and determination- how many times were the opposition winning the 50/50.

The players need to take accountability although some better coaching staff would not go amiss by the looks of it…

So why is Pep allowing it to happen ? Pep of old would be smashing the dressing room up and giving the players the hairdryer, Pep is in the final stages of his days at Manchester City and the players have given up

I think it's coming this week ? Pep is to leave in the summer
i agree with you on this, i wonder if the players actually know this as theres definately something wrong.

Totally. We've been spoiled by how good we've been. It's really hard to dominate forever. There was always going to a drop off, especially with FFP or all this other stuff they've brought in to keep it a closed shop. It's an unpopular point on here but did we all think it would go on forever? We'll still be there or thereabouts for years to come I believe. But to dominate like Liverpool did in the 70s/80s and the rags 90s/00s - We've done that over the last how many years. It's incredible.
