Spurs (A) Post Match Thread

But when it keeps happening you start to wonder.

KDB is a little bit short of where he was in terms of running power. Bernardo is the only player outside the forwards who you could expect to score and he can't play every game.

Salah, Mane and Firmino are light years ahead of our forwards in terms of efficiency.
Totally disagree with your KDB comment. He is pretty much acknowledged to have risen to the level where is now the world's best midfielder.

Feels like they have given up & some just dont warrant there place in the 11

Pep cant take the blame for missed pens AGAIN or missed chance after chance after chance

He cant take the blame for shocking defending or VAR.

He is responsible for picking Otamendi, Sterling & making stupid substitutions

Today just like UTD midweek just like Spurs at home, Newcastle away, Wolves Home, Norwich away, UTD home in League our finishing & defending is fucking awfull

How many times this year have we attacked, battered & outplayed a team only to be picking the ball out of our net on the opposition's 1st attack???

If we get a fucking are pasting by Real I dont see Pep staying for his final year.

We so need a big clear out inc some back room staff or circus as we see it

Pep has to show his bollicks & begin the biggest summer spend in Citys history but that will come at a cost & some may not like it.

Bringing back Laporte is a must, Leroy ok it gives us a great player but does he fancy it??

First one no, but I think I've only seen him make 3 or 4 world class saves. If either one of them played for Spurs today we'd have score at least 3. I think he needs some serious competition bud?

Maybe a CB that would put his neck on the line might help to.
Pulled us out of the shit first half when Otamendi was buggering about with a bouncing ball.

Really....you on the wind up mate? Or you don't really understand football? Got to be one of the two.
He's entitled to an opinion mate, thats what forums are for.
I can understand his frustration, Sterling was brilliant a few months ago but now he's lost form, frustrating to watch, loses the ball a lot and can't score a one on one. In fact, can't seem to score.

We dont have much to lose in the league right now, champions league is almost guaranteed. Let's use players who we need to build our future around in the right roles.

Zinchenko, Rodri and Foden in midfield
Eric center back
Cancelo right back but as a wide role

And maybe just toss kids in, Braaf, Palmer etc. Nothing to lose and might as well see what they got.

A lot of talk about Lloris being off his line. Haven't watched the replay, but an amatuer ref I know says the GK is allowed to be off his line so long as one foot is still on it.

Probably why he's still an amateur ref. Both on and off his line at the same time, brilliant!

Spurs are having a very fine stadium indeed, although had to keep a low profile because of some very excited bunch around. Didn't expect much from the game, which proved again the more prefect and dominant we are, the more certain a bad result will befall us. This game was our whole PL season condensed in 90+ minutes, VAR and 'poor in both boxes' crap. Find all this 'this player good and this one not so good' distasteful, when our only issue was not putting three or four in the net.

yup that’s true. Both feet were off tho. It’s a really tough call on field. Given VAR can pick up on encroachment I’m not sure why it isn’t allowed to monitor this. But that’s VAR - badly thought out

Law 14 - When the ball is kicked, the defending goalkeeper must have at least part of one foot touching, or in line with, the goal line.
"Off his line" generally means he has broken that rule. In today's game he had edged forward so had broken that rule and was hence, off his line. In line with the goal line means above it.

FWIW, it was marginal and I hate that rule anyway.

No surprise there wasn’t any analysis of Loris taking down Raz. Absolutely nothing. Not even a clip. Funny that eh?? It’s like they might have got it wrong again.
Spineless and inept finishing by the whole team today. Sterling shouldn’t be anywhere near that team for a while.

I doubt he will be with that injury.

I think a second centre back similar to the level of Laporte will have a bigger impact on our defensive stability.

Eddie has let in a few soft goals this season but he’s also faced a lot of unstoppable ones. Possibly his game has dropped a bit, like a lot of the squad since the title challenge slipped.

He gives us a lot that an average all round keeper can’t. Hopefully he will keep on improving.

I don’t think he has been giving as much since the rule changes this season. He has not been as dynamic as he was with his range of passing. Some games he has made some good saves this season but I don’t think he is the best shot stopper in the world and his judgement at times has not been great but he is the least of it worries currently. We probably need to overhaul at least 4 of our 8 defenders.

Our penalties for the last 12 months have been garbage. The technique is just complete gash.
Compare and contrast with Salah - Runs at pace from the right to blast it into the left hand corner. If the keeper starts to dive to his right at the end of the run up, the ball is swept to his left. If not it is past the keeper before he can get to it. He's not going to miss many.
