Sorry ive read this twice havent a scooby what your on about !
Bit of humour but there was longstanding issue with a large manufacturing business near Spurs ground that objected to their application to build the new stadium. Conveniently for Spurs a large fire destroyed the manufacturing business. It was heavily reported in the media at the time. After the fire the objections to the build of the ground disappeared. Spurs now have their new stadium. The objection of this business obviously had prevented Spurs staring their build of the stadium sooner and which they now have.

Arf! This old chestnut!

There was nothing “convenient” about the fire for Spurs. They had been granted planning permission for the new stadium six years previously. At the time of the fire, the issue at hand was the validity of a Compulsory Purchase Order and there were less than two months before the entire, protracted saga was due to come to an end. And since Archway Sheet Metal had lost at every previous stage of the process, it was overwhelmingly odds on that the judicial review would find in favour of the CPO that Haringey had served on them. Archway’s chances of winning the appeal were acknowledged to be slim to none.

Given all of which, what did Spurs have to gain from setting fire to one of Archway’s buildings? And even if they did have something to gain, why would they have waited for years - until the finishing line was within sight and almost within touch, in fact - before resorting to arson?

If there was anything untoward about the fire- and I have no reason to believe that there was - I’d suggest that the odds on it having been an inside insurance job are infinitely greater.
