Ake and Gvardiol were both utter crap today. I wish we had a full squad available so we didn’t have to play them two but needs must I suppose.

Foden too.
 
I will yet again suggest we should go for a wingback system to help our defensive frailties & support midfield.

they cant sit back under Postecoglou, Slot did sit back today quite a lot so they can punish on quick counters, Spurs wont do that. they have some pacey players and that is horrible news for us. if our defence gets a bit of pressure they usually fold this season. partially due to zero help from midfield and attack.
having said that there is a reason Spurs is on only 33 points, they are generally dog shit.

but they ripped us apart at home 0-4.
they also eliminated us from Carabao.

to have two lossses already vs this shit version of Spurs is brutal. can be three sadly. we need very different midfield vs them than today. Foden+KDB is madness together. they wont be able to track any quicker Spurs midfielder runs...
 
They’ll forget all of their recent woes and absolutely go for it.

I just don’t think we can contain any team that gets in our faces unless we change our tactics, which we won’t. They have pace in their side and will punish us on the break.

Gundo and Bernardo not starting today suggests they’ll both start. I also expect Foden will drop out (rightly so as he’s been awful) and I think Haaland will be missing again.

Nunes was good at RB, better than Lewis anyway. With Khusanov's protection, he could potentially thrive. Jack could add some control to midfield as well.
 
Play the same lineup as we did against Newcastle
Spurs away concourse is always decent to be fair

From the look of KDB today and some of the other players - they know its over. I'm not sure any of them are going to "step up". The younger players - perhaps. I'm not sure we get top 4 by trotting out KDB, Bernardo, Gundo and Kovacic every game. No matter what time they come in. Khusanov-Dias-Ake-Gvardiol. Ride that train as far as it will go. Put Nico in front of them. Play McAtee, Savinho, Doku, Haaland (if healthy) and Marmoush.

Is Bobb fit? Perhaps bring him back gradually? And shut Rodri down. I know he wants to come back this season. Don't risk him. And hold him out of the Club World Cup.

Agreed. Like today, I think you play the younger players (albeit not the academy kids) the rest of the way and start to build momentum for next season. Won't win them all, but should be enough to finish top 5.
 
Fuck me nothing like avoiding the matchday thread as much as possible...then nipping onto the next pre match thread and it being just as full of misery, quit and negativity. Next time there's a hostage situation just blare this forum at the captors and they'll give into all demands.

I mean fucking seriously have any of you been watching the last 7-10 years? Misery loves misery I suppose.
 
They'll win quite easily. They're getting players back and finally putting some wins together. They've got too much speed and energy for us to cope with plus the fact they're used to turning us over at their place.
