Spurs fans...

Off-topic I realize but not fullback? Personally, I agree he goes forward too much and he can be somewhat... rash in the box.
A lot of people have suggested this as well. Though all we know is, we've yet to see his crossing ability and he once played as a LB at Benfica and it didn't go well at all. A lot of our fans want to try him at RB as an experiment.

His discipline is poor but so was Calvalho's when he first came and you know how he turned out. The latest penalty at QPR was ridiculous though, I don't blame him for it at all. It was a dive, one so poor that the offending player pulled out of it and tried to play on before the pen was awarded.

More gelled than us? it doesn't matter how well u gell a bad buch of players, when a group of players like ours even start to look like they're pulling in the same direction there is no comparison!

All that aside, a City forum isn't the place for this debate. I originally wanted to clear up why Modric was adamant to come here in case you'd missed it.

Indeed. This isn't the best place to have this debate.

Sorry folks!

a spurs fan and a chelsea fan arguing on a city forum....ermmmmmmm... hop it

Guessing it's just me who enjoyed reading it then.

@Spurspinter1: No regrets in asking at all. Was genuinely interested in how you reacted to the whole affair, and found how it all looked from a Spurs pov fascinating. For what it's worth, the way he treated your club after you built him up was nothing short of shocking. After being the beating heart of your team while you've gone from mid-table team to challenging for a Champs League place, I agree that the least he owed you was one more go at it after faltering last season. Because Bale and VdV got so many plaudits last year, I don't think he realised how pivotal he is to your team.

I have to admit, I smile whenever Spurs lose. The 81 Cup final will never be forgotten. But given the choice of either you lot, Arsenal or Liverpool in fourth place, it would be you. I have a lot of respect for Spurs, especially after the way Levy handled Modric. Similarities in how our club handled an unsettled player, and I'm happy the clubs are finally fighting back.

In the general football forum.....

Agreed, i see no reaso they should not debte here, at their own forums depending on which one they did it the other would just get a torrrent of abuse from the oppo fans.

I have to agree. I have no love for Spurs and they certainly have no love for me, but they deserve respect for the way they refused to let Modric go. I don't think I've ever seen a club stand up to being financially bullied out of losing their best player. Ultimately it probably wont keep him if they don't reach the CL again, but it was an admirable moment even if my club ended up losing out.

Cheers mate! Nice to have your opinion backed up by a fan of another club.

And I can fully understand holding a grudge against a club after a cup final defeat, no hard feelings with that one..

Time will show whether we made the right decision as I could understand it being tempting when the 40m offer came in (allegedly) but I'm glad we stood firm.

Fair play for your words Castiel, and I apologise if I got a bit arsy the other night unnecessarily.
