Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Just think of all the rags and dippers feasting their sore eyes on some of these comments - not a good thought.
Fuck them
They need more than 5 games lost to catch up with the comedy gold the pair of them have served up for us for the last 12 years.

One title won between the pair of them in 12 years. Feast your fucking eyes on that.

We let Gundo go to Barca. And their he should of stayed and been there problem. Do you think if Gundo was playing well and playing his part Barca would of wanted rid. I got slated for saying it was a bad move. He was great but he was on his swan song when he left for Barca. Our midfield is becoming a retirement home.

Well to be fair, due to their insane finances, Barcelona do have a track record of trying to force out players even when they are playing well. The problem with the Gundogan signing is that those of us who were up for it assumed he was just coming back to provide a bit of cover and because of his good influence in the dressing room. But he's playing miles too much and can't be expected to carry a failing team at this stage of his career.

I thought Savio & Bernardo were ok

The rest, not so much

The changes were too late

Playing KDB on the right instead of the middle behind Haaland was another bad decision by Pep

Pep only brings Mcatee when there is 3 goals difference, was surprised not to see Pep bring him like usual !

Maybe it’s a season too much for a lot of the squad
Pep can now approach Viana with the evidence that we need a huge refresh, and hopefully the new guy won’t be as tight with the purse strings as the last couple of transfer windows.
Remember blues, our very existence is being put under threat, so perspective might be that if we don’t win a trophy, but we live to fight again, that’s our biggest win of the season

Hopefully Gundo won't be remembered for this season so far.

Said after the bournemouth, Brighton and Sporting games, the problems aren't with the players, it's a major tactical problem that doesn't get sorted until tactical changes are made. The injuries merely masked and offered an excuse for poor losses but I said after those games it will carry on even with most of the squad available if we setup the same way and look what's happened now.

A humiliating home defeat to a midtable spurs side who didnt perform all that well themselves, got beat at home to ipswich last game and was soundly booed off and who were without both their starting centre backs. If anybody is still clinging on to the excuse it will get better with certain players available I suggest they wake up. This will repeatedly happen until the formation changes.

We are constantly outnumbered when defending, no professional football club should be finding themselves putnumbered or at best man for man every single time the opposition attack, it's Sunday league amateur level of defending. If the opposition get things right, there's simply nothing we can do to prevent it, we're consistently gambling on them fucking up easy chances.

The press is the core problem, it is fucking dreadful! we've got slow players that can't get there, mainly the midfield, We've got players who run and put on the illusion of a press but never, ever make any real effort to win the ball back, predominately the front line and thus may aswell not bother and we've got players who just launch forward way out of position when the press has already failed, namely yhe defensive unit and none of them ever show any desire to get back into position or behind the ball once they've been easily bypassed.

Pep has had 2 weeks to think of something different to salvage the season. Today should have seen change if it was going to happen, he came up with nothing but a slight tweak that made us even worse, can't see how he changes anything this year if it didn't come today. If we play the same way nect weekend, were going to get annihilated at Anfield who thrive off doing the thing we're most vulnerable to and that will see us 11 points behind them. If that happens that will be the title gone by the first day of December, we won't be able to stop that gap growing nevermind close it
Agreed.

No zip anymore.
Bernardo & Foden lacking any intensity this year and with the injuries we’re getting the latest results.
We have to stick together and Pep has to find the right formula.
Playing Lewis in midfield is criminal and not fair on the young lad.
Our experienced players need to show leadership which in my view has been lacking all season.

We really didn't play that badly. The difference is taking chances. For whatever reason, we struggle massively to score, whilst the opposition seem to score at every opportunity.

Yes, the midfield is a little lacking and so are the tactics here and there........but honestly, I believe when it just not going for it's just not going for you.

We have a fantastic few years.....keep the guard up, chin protected and we'll come out ready to go again.

We can't win everything all the time.
And Spurs didn't play that well either. Not being used to that result is going to have a chastening effect on a few of our fans but we'll have to take it on the chin.

First off i fancied us to get something today.
Players back from injury, Pep’s new deal, Rodri being back in the building.
Silly me I thought we might be up for it and at least show some fight.
How wrong was I?
We were fucking appalling yet again.
We can’t pass, we can’t run, we can’t tackle, we certainly can’t defend.
Ake defended better on his own when he come on than the entire back 4 did in the first half.
We are absolutely outstanding at missing chances though.
We’ve got treble winners in this team, current PL champions yet it doesn’t look like it.
Yes there’s no Rodri, there’s injuries and we’re out of form but we shouldn’t be this shit!
So I begin to wonder again what’s actually going on.
I starting to believe the players know the outcome of the 115.
I really hope I’m wrong but something is off big time.
We keep hearing about this ‘war chest’ well we need one now more than ever.
Walker, Stones, Gundogan, Bernardo and maybe Kev are looking like their time is coming to an end.
We are an ageing squad and it’s showing.
Grealish needs to go also, not enough goals or assists, he’s a great team player but we need to get back to being scary to play against rather than an easy push over with not much goal threat.
This team is lacking goal scorers all over the pitch.
Without Haaland we’d be about 8th.
(Yes he was shit today)
It’s gonna get much much worse yet.
Honestly can’t believe the shit I’m watching at the minute, considering the manager and the talent in this team.
In case you’re wondering I’m fuming.

ive said elsewhere we couldnt do worse than throw OReilly in there.....but I just dont think he wants to put that pressure on the kid....or maybe he aint ready....

Gundo is finished if his present form is anything to go by...he has been awful in every game he has played...he neither adding goals, control, assists and has never been able to defend

Nunes is ok bu he aint the quality you need

Bernardo has been run into the ground....he isnt the answer on his own

When the midfield is getting destroyed every game, you have to adapt and we haven't. I don't think Nunes is what we need in possession, but there is literally no point fixating on having more possession when it amounts to nothing in an attacking sense & the players are massively detrimental out of possession. However, mixing it could work and Nunes' negatives would be outweighed by us not being so flaccid in transition

Crazy part is we started really well I thought, first ten mins.

Just read another poster saying how mental it is for our tactic to stretch teams and then our adancing players being the likes of Walker and Gvardiol. Bang on, we need actual threats getting the ball in them area. Rinse and repeat with Pep, if boring a team to death with 100 passes on the edge of their box doesn't work then lets pass it another 100 times. That Spurs third goal was everything I wish we was, from their box to the back of our net in a matter of seconds. They won it back in their third so many times, played out and was on a threatening attack within seconds. I would kill for that again, like the Sane/Sterling days but no, we seem to think grinding teams down and boring them to death is the way forward. Not sure what the catalyst needs to be to give Pep a kick up the arse and look for other solutions.

We wasn't playing well when we was winning, we are now losing and deserving to. I don't know what the solution is but I would like to think the best manager in the world who gets paid more than most does.

With respect, Savinho had an absolute nightmare. I haven’t seen a City player give the ball away as much as he did today for years.
