Interesting times at City in the most unexpected way - but we've been getting away with it all this season until the last 5 games, even before the latest set of injuries hit us. The big hangover from last season, and now with players who are playing catch-up with fitness during games - when you're at the top level, that's a tall order. It's looking like some can't make it back to their former levels, and by any standards - not just City's and Pep's - tonight was an absolute shit-show.
I'd say "Well done Spurs" but they didn't do anything other than play almost exactly as we all anticipated. As usual, we made a good start, but, going 1-0 down again - against a good counter-attacking team - I think we all feared what was going to happen as the clock ticked down. Ederson kept the score down to an embarrassment, rather than a complete humiliation - though some of you may argue 4-0 at home is a humiliation.
Pep IS the man! Now, it's not merely about winning but facing our realities and stopping the rot. No better place for that than in the bear-pit at Anfield next week. What's the great man going to come up with? Honestly, I can't say, or second guess what he's likely to do. Would a 4-0 loss there be a disgrace, after tonight?
Anyway. I can live with an embarrassment or two after following City for 60 years and seen how shit we were. We're still 2nd in the league. The rebuild is coming. I just hope I can survive till it starts in January - and avoid suicide.
Keep the faith!
