Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Ok I’ll put my pennysworth in for tonight. We can all see we haven’t got a midfielder at the moment and that’s where our problem lies. And with out doubt this has led to our defence being overwhelmed in the last five games. We don’t have the players we thought we had to bridge this gap at the moment but pep will sort it out and it’s always been after Xmas we get better. You have to understand we have these last few seasons started slow but accelerated later in the season and I’m hoping we do it again. On a side note the Spanish here we’re cheering every goal tonight because they hate the Catalan.

Trade in the net spend trophy for a very good left back and central mid in Jan or we are fucked. Nowhere near guaranteed top 4 unless we do, forget the title if Gundo, Gvardiol and Walker are protecting Ederson.
Digging out Gvardiol is very unfair, the lad has been top drawer for us this season, unfortunately the penalty blunder in Lisbon seems to have shaken his confidence.

Tactically we are wide open, not compact as a team in the slightest.

Defensively we are dire, and that's from front to back. A non existent press, and what happened to getting the ball back almost immediately after losing it?

Other teams getting in behind the full backs with ease game after game.

No legs in midfield to track runners when we lose the ball. The defenders being outnumbered, or man for man time after time when we give the ball away.

I'm not sure how we fix this with the players we have in midfield, other than a change of tactics.

We've conceded 14 goals in the last 5 games, we can't carry on like this. The dippers will spank us if we are as wide open against them as we've been recently.
Well for a start Pep could play Nunes and McAtee and give us some legs and momentum. Gundo is clearly past it now (he may return to form with a rest), the Lewis experiment is regressing, Bernardo is only showing gladhes and even though I've defended Walker in the past he is poor both attacking and defdnding. Give some other players a ho

I said a couple of weeks ago it was difficult to tell if our recent form was a blip or the start of a longer malaise. It appears to be the latter. The reason can't just be that Rodri isn't playing.

Personally I think our right side gets targeted all the time. Lewis isnt good enough and Walker is finished.

We've had a hell of a ride and we're still English and World club champions. Only last year champions of Europe.

Its a long time since I used to get ridiculed every Monday at work after we'd lost again or been relegated to the Championship and then Division 1.

In the short term this is painful. In the long term the future is still blue

(God help us if that shower of bastards win tomorrow)
