Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

When Pep signed his new contract, he said I can't leave the club like this, or words to that effect.

He wasn't talking about 4 defeats in a row, he knows a new team needs building and he's going to oversee it.

So anyone who's a little bit too precious to hear a bit of constructive criticism can do one.

If the manager knows the team needs rebuilding, I'm sure the fans who aren't sheep know it as well.

Love this forum. Absolute wet lettuces who know nothing other than being spoilt

For the empty heads, this is football. Sometimes you go through a major slump, the same ones you all enjoy other clubs’ demise when they’re going through it.

We WILL be champions come May.

And then you can all take your faces for a massive dump an apologise.

Absolutely, we off the boil, timing is slightly out but we’ve created 50 chances in the last 2 games & scored 1.

The reason why Spursy are Spursy is the law of averages are you don’t get away with giving 23 attempts on goal & keeping a clean sheet often.

Players are coming back, takes a few weeks but 12 points at Christmas isn’t insurmountable.

I do feel for Mcatee, he’s better than Savio in my opinion but Pep is the greatest coach so I’ll trust him.

Just one of those years it seems, But, bright side we’re still second somehow!!

Who knows where we’ll be by May, I have faith but we need to pull our finger out soon.

6 EPL titles in the last 7 season and you guys are complaining the players are dog whites and the club is mismanaging and Pep’s time at the club is up? You are worse than the worst Arsenal fans in terms of supporting the team.
Haha it's called discussion, things are going very wrong. Can't blame fans for being upset.
None of us know why exactly or what's going on behind the scenes.
My own take is one word - Rodri.
He protects that defence like no other and gives confidence to everyone.
God knows why he hasn't got any back up, bad planning on City's part.
Surely our wonderful academy should have provided a backup to defensive mid by now. Or what about the other clubs in the City group?
And Pep has to stop picking Gundo and Walker.

Its football, everything can happen. But what makes me sad is our genius pep repeats the same mistake. Why play Gundo, lewis and walker. Everyone sees they are not good enough. We can play akanji right back and ake as left to sort this problem.

would it be fair to say that our players seem a little.. disappointed in one another. there are less gestures of support. less pick-em-ups when a player makes a mistake. more body language displays of annoyance with one another. they almost seem universally annoyed with their fellow teammates. that's the real worrying thing. when we concede so many goals and so many of the exact pathetic counter attack goal, seeing players who week in week out do a shit job at recovering would start to grind on you if you were a fellow defender. stones seemed absolutely done with kyle. bernardo seemed mad with gundo.

Play some kids & play a tight system pep for the rest of the season

I don’t want to see any of these start any more games
Gundy
Rico
Stones
Walker
Bernie
Savi

I’d even drop Haaland & play extra midfielder right now.

We are getting worse every game
I think the problem is defense and midfield.

Did we actually play the ball through to Haaland at all in that game?

Spurs played a high line and we have a monster of a striker that I don't recall us releasing at all.

For all the talk of injuries and poor form for certain players, that's a tactical cock up and is ultimately on Pep.
There was a moment when Haaland showed his frustration towards Gvardiol for not passing forward in the first half, with acres of space to run onto.

Delusional, we're in a mess right now, Pep can't string two games together with the same defence and midfield and away at Liverpool next up. Not Pep's fault, bad timing with injuries and in vital areas.
Nunes has been one of our better players over the past few games, why he didn't start in midfield ?

But we are still 2nd with plenty of games to play

criticism, yes you can criticise but you will be a fool to because this squad has given its all over the last 6 or 7 seasons, Let's just get behind the team again and maybe come the time to hand out the medals we could be bowing receive more silverware

Were top of the table, now potentially 8 points off top.
Were 3rd in the CL, now outside the Top 8.
Were unbeaten in the PL for a long long time, now lost 3 in a row.
Are out of the League cup already.

Cling on to that 2nd position all you want, but it wont last long either. The reality is there are problems in attack, midfield and defence. I think the defence can be fixed as we've the personnel for it (and Dias will be back too, we can rotate Walker with Akanji), but midfield and attack will have the same issues.

We have no alternative other than play more kids. That said Lewis is a kid and he looks totally out of place in the team right now.

We need yo buy a specialist LB and RB, a DM, an attacking midfielder, and a back up to Haaland soon as possible. But we need to make sure we're not panic buying and get the right players to enhance us.

Noticed the same. You can see etched on their faces the players are resigned that as a team we are shockingly bad from our previous standards.

They look like they want the ground to open up.

Ouch . That was painful . And has been all season tbh . Every game feels like so much jeopardy . Oh , to go to a home match and have a relaxing afternoon. I can feel my self preservation Kippax chromosome , dormant for years , firing up . Truly time to sing Blue Moon. Our torch song when times are bad .

Nothing ever going to be as painful as Luton and David Pleat though .This team have given us the best years of our lives so respect four times over but time to rebuild .
