Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

We won't win anything when we're bringing Bernardo and Doku on, they're just not good enough
Marmoush and Cherki were most dangerous players and Pep takes them off for Bernardo who has physicality of a tooth pick and Doku who is his own worst enemy ffs.

Just all over the place. Can accept players having a bad day but I can't accept the lack of effort or even bollocks. Dias and Stones were appalling. Lewis is abysmal and at the moment it's a massive step up for Trafford. Richarlison and Kudus absolutely bullied us today which is unacceptable.

The rebuild has ended up with our wide options being Bobb & Bernardo with Marmoush and Doku on the other. It's nowhere near the level. Add to that we don't have a RB and a midfield without Rodri and it's not hard to see why we have issues.

When Bernardo came on he started in midfield. It was noticeable how slow he was compared to the Spurs players.
Then he moved to the wing where he is no longer effective. Sad to say but he looks done.

Cherki at the moment is an impact sub.

Thought despite being inconsistent Marmoush offered a goal threat and should have scored.

Unlike last week where every chance went in here none did. Rodri has a good opportunity with his head. As did Haaland.

Bobb showed plenty of fight and winning the ball back in the 6 yard box should have led to a goal.

I don't know were to start, that was horrendous...

I don't want to read anymore about how Rico Lewis will prove people wrong and how James Trafford is better than Donnarumma...Seriously cop the fuck on.

Khusanov sat on his arse on the bench again whilst we've to watch that fucking fairy Ruben Dias play and wear the captains armband, fucking laughable.

Sorry but let's call a spade a spade, Pep's time is up at the club. Before all you happy clappers start with the whole Treble, Centurions, 4 peat stuff...I understand all that, I fucking love Pep but the way things are going fans are going to turn on him and you can see it coming, It's time to call it a day before this gets worse, I can't see how this gets better.
Can't disagree with any of that!

I know it's really early doors but i am not sure that Pep has the answers anymore.

I agree with you mate, but expect to get pounced on. I thought second half, if we come out looking like they’ve had a bollocking we might have a sniff, but just more passive shite. First 2nd half shot on target in the 75th minute? Fuck me.

How we respond next game will speak volumes.

Major concerns all over the pitch after that shite. Trafford absolutely garbage can't be our number 1, defence simply not strong enough against the better sides( yeah Spurs I know), full backs woeful. Midfield looked like they were running through treacle, and Haaland up front having one of his really shit days.
Pep shouldn't have changed it from Wolves, but he has to every week doesn't he?
Not quick enough either.
Dias is currently stealing a living.
Based on today - and I'll get pelted for it, our back 4
Nunes - Stones/Khusanov - Gvardiol - RAN
At least there are legs in there to cover our copious fuck ups

Stop Panicking.

It's a rebuild and there will be growing pains.

Trafford was solid and didn't do anything wrong!!

Deserves to be our number #1. For everyone complaining I don't see you doing any better than him and he showed his grit with that double save!
You must be on the wind up.

Watched the game in a bar in Fuerteventura with the City missus. Think we were the only City supporters & we were completely surrounded by spuds fans.
It was pretty bad.
Pretty much my experience in the hotel here in Deia. Get this - 2 Arsenal fans sat next to me were sticking up for Spurs.

I said WTF and they said: “Big picture mate, big picture.”

It’s been a long day.

We all knew the result before kick-off because it's Spurs
Curse of the Left back Injury and we have nothing in reserve for both fullback roles.
We need a balanced squad and need fullbacks and covers, plus when we are at home we should only play 1 holding midfield player and get Foden and Cherki just behind Haaland.

Pep needs to look at how we let teams like Spurs dominate us, our players let their heads drop far to quickly and just go through the motions, I think we are far too soft and dare i say mard arses. We lack steel and the dark arts

Huge issues

It’s easy to blame individual mistakes but this game was lost on the training pitch. Spurs were well drilled, executed a plan and we couldn’t lay a glove on them.

On the other hand, we looked like a bunch of individuals with the same bad habits as last year. Forget their first goal which we must have seen 20+ times against us in the previous 5 months, but the second one is ridiculous.

I simply cannot comprehend how we play at 100mph in our OWN box when the opposition are pressing us but then play at 0mph in the opposition box. Especially at such a critical point in the game.

The obviously mitigating factor is that we haven’t really had a preseason and it looked like the pace of the game got to Cherki and Reindjers today.

We’ll improve as the season goes on and I think we’ll destroy the lesser quality sides in the league. But I don’t think we have the tactical nous to compete with the Arsenal and Liverpool for the league.

It was a particularly poor performance but unfortunately we can’t truly say we’re a top side anymore with the very best players.

We’ve failed to sign the very best players for the past couple of years and it’s showing. Also, we haven’t got rid of the players we needed to. Bernado was terrible last season and we’ve made him captain - his performance today was appalling. Dias again was poor and yet we’ve just given him a new contract.

We’re crying out for a proper central midfielder and a right back but i doubt we’ll sign him.

Spurs are nothing special but they were well organised, had a balanced team and have lots of legs and pace in the side. Unfortunately that’s enough to beat us these days because we don’t have the quality to overcome it.

In Bridlington, got West Ham and Wednesday taking the piss , typical City. Hopefully Leeds batter Arsenal and Sunderland win the league. Not as bad as York away .

Not suggesting he is dropped but Haaland should not be un-subbable when we need goal(s). especially when there is no space like today, the false 9 with marmoush or foden is an option to accommodate more ball players.

Bernie been poor for yonks. Top guy, so seems to get a bit more leeway with everyone.

Hey ho. Fantastic one week, shite the next. Spent a shit load of money chucking some really good players at the problem - plus a couple of new coaches - without addressing the defensive issues.

Any savvy manager with a decent squad is able to expose our shortcomings. We’ll batter some teams on a good day and get embarrassed on another.
