Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

We all love the man but fuck me it painful.

So many reasons why the team is so poor.

I genuinely dont know if he can fix it.

If the level of player is not good enough for pep’s system then what do we do?

Need to be buying world class players to play a certain way.

He must be fuming and embarrassed about what he is watching. It’s not his level at all.

What is going on in training? The blue winning machine days are over.

That not being able to pass out from the back is alarming. We used to be bulletproof and could get out of any press.

The lack of direction and play when atttacking is equally just as bad. What happened to the triangles and passing teams off the park?

It’s over, we just don’t want to admit it. Bit like Kev’s legs last season.

Hard to see it come to an end but football is unforgiving.

Look no further than the rags living in GPC wonderland.

Absolutely pure 100% bollocks that. A terrible watch too.

Why does Pep seem to ignore that we often ship tragic (comically) bad goals ?

Bad day at the office today and we all expected way way better with the new line-up. To serve up that slop as the first home game of the season was unforgivable.

Saying that, although everyone will be wanking themselves off into a frenzy about the amazing and mighty Spurs tonight, those were dreadful goals to concede. Especially the second. That should have never ever fucking ever happened. The first too if we had a proper defence. But did we even deserve a 0-0 today ? I dunno. You decide.

Serious question : Was Haaland on the pitch today ?

I agree with you mate, but expect to get pounced on. I thought second half, if we come out looking like they’ve had a bollocking we might have a sniff, but just more passive shite. First 2nd half shot on target in the 75th minute? Fuck me.

How we respond next game will speak volumes.
I'd argue we were worse for large parts of the second half - we looked even less cohesive.
The worrying bit was the inability to change our pattern of play - which is past it's sell by date I'm afraid

Pep has struggled against this tactic his whole career… he won’t change his philosophy for one match and if a team that plays like this, plays well - and we’re not at the races, we lose.
Yeah nah. That's utter rubbish. Talk to someone else.

Were sloppy in all departments, very disappointing against a team we never seem to beat.

No coincidence we collapsed as soon as Ait Nouri left that side of the field. Frank knew exactly how to exploit the full backs and Rico isn’t anywhere near the level to play a top 8 team. Worst right back we’ve had in a long time.

Nico, cherki and reijnders was horrible call. Too much inexperience all together and when they lost air Nouri pushing up they didn’t have the speed of thought to deal with spurs intensity.

Haaland played well until he got nothing.

Subs awful too. Doku has nowhere to hide any more. Produce or bench.

I don’t blame Trafford but I think today will stop the fans nonsense of thinking “one of our own” is enough to justify not buying quality players in. You earn it.

Not a single positive from whatever that 'performance' was. Made to look well below the level of a side that finished 17th last year and who are in a transition themselves.

2-0 down and not even had a go in the second half, absolutely pathetic. I feel worse than after the 4-0 last year because at least we had a go in that game and should have been 2 up ourselves.

We are bang in trouble if that's all we can produce against a side like them... theres plenty of better sides than them in the league.

I thought the only decent player today was Nico, won a few battles and looked up for it. Spurs were a handful, very much like how Brentford played under Frank. They were out there to rattle us and it worked.

Plenty of work to be done. We’ve had a big turn over of players since January and it’s our second game of the season. No need to lose our heads just yet.

Think I read at half time that Ait Nouri has hardly had an injury for 3 years. It would be a major blow if our only out right wing back was injured for a while.

Trafford -Not an elite keepeer 3
Lewis-Lightweight - 4
Stones- Average 5
Dias- Fist pumping is not enough 4
Cherki- Did he play? 3
Raindeer- Cought in the headlights 4
Bobb- reasonable effort -6
Nico- Unreliable 4
Marmoush- Poor 4
Haaland- Tried hard 5
Rodri- added composure 6
Foden - Looked lively 6
Doku- half decent 5
Bernardo- poor-4
Pep- 4 Arse handed roasted on a tray by Frank.

2 shite sides on the ball but they worked much harder than us.

Timewasting is pathetic though, 8 second rule is pointless, they made it back on throw ins and free kicks. Not sure the ball was in play 2nd half.
Couldn’t agree more buddy. Dreadful game from start to finish. As for the 8 sec rule? Another daft thot of & agreed over lunch no doubt.

Agree with most of that. I still have hope pep can change it but he might not get chance. We have so much to be grateful to pep for. He has been amazing. But the club is bigger than one man. Come on pep get it sorted lad
