Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Absolute shit show before the game at the turnstiles and not much better on the pitch. Unpredictable and inconsistent teams don't win the league. Need some inspiration from somewhere. I despise that lot, but unfortunately they're looking like a team on the up and deserved it today. But we were poor.

Here we go, the season is over after 2 games. Lol!
Its not over but we are not a side to be feared as we were in the past especially at home and too many sides know they are capable of capitalizing on our mistakes and in fact bossing us on our home patch as was the case today.

I don't think Pep has it in him to challenge for trophies with this squad and where he is now on managerial ladder.

He deserves to go out on his terms and it has to come eventually and we have long seen the best of the likes of Dias , Stones , Silva , Ederson , maybe even Foden and a number of players in the squad are not good enough now or into the future collectively to play in a title winning team.

I think we need to remember we didn’t have a proper pre season and they have a solid one. Especially that match against PSG in the Super Cup. This was our first proper match

We were well below the level we need to be at if we want to compete for the title/top 4 this season, but this is a treat in transition. Ait Nouri, Nico, Marmoush, Reijnders, Cherki, Bobb, Trafford, these lads are not going to gel immediately and we looked like a team with new players in it, all a bit disjointed.

The individual mistakes were less acceptable, why on earth is Ruben not backing himself and going with Richarlison’s run instead of trying to step up?!

The ball from Trafford was suicide! We need to figure out, and soon, if we’re going to continue playing out from the back with a keeper that looks incapable of doing so.

Seriously first home game of season getting oles with what did we have 2 shots on target? It was dire mate
We had 4 shots on target and considering how many positions we got into with better passing we could have had a lot more

Very impressed with Spurs, they didn't give us a minutes peace on the ball. Saying that, we had chances that we didn't take and got caught with a ball behind us yet again. As long as we play with a right back spending the majority of time in midfield, we will struggle

Stop Panicking.

It's a rebuild and there will be growing pains.

Trafford was solid and didn't do anything wrong!!

Deserves to be our number #1. For everyone complaining I don't see you doing any better than him and he showed his grit with that double save!
THAT^^^ is fucking delusional!

I’m all in favor of supporting the lads, but “Solid and didn’t do anything wrong”???

How about “had a nightmare of a home debut, but will learn from the #1 this season”?!

I didn’t think the pitch was quite ready, there were several slips, one led to the first goal and I think another led to Alt Nouri’s injury. But we dropped a point due to mistakes. We never looked like scoring, Spuds had longer pre-season to prepare. Also the ref did us no favours, but to be fair, we didn’t deserve any points from that performance. Hopefully things will improve as the new recruits get used to our style of play.
