Armchair fans think it’s the right decision.

Match going fans less so.
And everyone that is generally struggling to stay afloat right now that have now lost revenue/wages for a completely unnecessary cancellation (due to rescheduling, those people/businesses will likely not see the same revenue/wages when the matches are actually played; that’s ignoring the hardship of delayed income ahead of winter).

All what policing though? What are all the police needed for this weekend? Are they expecting 30 million outside Buck Pal? I genuinely can’t see why.

And as for commander in chief, I think the army will manage ;-)
Many more public figures, politicians, local government leaders and the like will be about in towns and cities up and down the country, and there will be events in big cities that will attract a lot of the public that are into that kind of thing.

Football cancelled but work isn’t? The country has gone grief mad since Diana Spencer died, interestingly the poor woman who was being cheated on by the new king. I wonder if we’ll get a day of mourning for the victims of the current kings brother.

Too scared to go against the hysteria
Correct - the fear of the backlash. The fear that others cancel and they will look like the outlier. Its an inevitable chain reaction that no one had the balls to anticipate and stop.

I have a mate who runs a pub. Most Pubs are on there arse with energy bills. These decisions will realistically be the final nail for a number of pubs around the country.
