Ever thought you might be wrong? just a thought
Which bit? Close to 50m? England's most promising defender? Our second choice left back? his abysmal performances?

New centre back. Kompany injured. New Keeper. Not a surprise we have struggledI actually think Stones has been dire this season after the first 4 or 5 weeks of the season. Admittedly he is playing with Otamendi, Kolarov etc but this is a supposed £50m player. Surely he can do better. I'd probably go with a back 3 so we can get an extra man in midfield and also up with Aguero (3-5-2):
Caballero
Kompany
Otamendi
Stones
Sterling
Fernando
KDB
Delph
Sane
Jesus
Aguero
Bravo is a quality keeper and will prove it. Kolarov is quality too although I concede he can be exposed by a quick player.
It's only a matter of time before this City squad clicks

Go at it from the off, Jesus off for Kelechi after 60 minutes.
Imagine that side with Fernandinho instead of Fernando once he's eligible. Mouth watering.
3 at the back would be suicidal. that team has almost no defensive cover against spurs - one of the best attacking teams.
Agreed. 352 would be my choice as well. It's not like our full backs are remotely decent this season anyway.Nahh it will push there fullbacks back if we keep at it pressuring them but we would need to take our chances

Do you really think Sane and Sterling are going to push Rose and Walker back? It's much more likely Rose and Walker will dominate them both and you'll be pinned back, with Sterling and Sane acting as defenders which would be a recipe for disaster. Rose and Walker are tailor made for the wing back role. Sane and Sterling are not wing backs. That formation will not end well.
maybe, but everytime we've tried 3 at the back, its not been great. if we do we need sterling and sane to be getting back and defending, which they dont usually do. rose and walker are the best attacking full backs in the league so its a risk imo.
Exactly what Pep tried successfully against Chelsea, despite people saying it wouldn't work. It did, we pushed Moses and Alonso right back into their own half and they did nothing until Sané came off.
Like vs. Chelsea, we are the home team, we will dominate possession, and Walker and Rose will have to drop deep because of the sheer pace of Sané and Sterling.
That's the only way to defend against players faster than you, so it's literally their only option, otherwise any ball in behind them leads to a 3v3 at the back.
As for the wingers defending - people said the same before Chelsea and yet Sané was brilliant when he had to defend and Raheem has always been one of the hardest working players we have in defence - usually makes it back before the fullbacks when we get countered.
Only change I'd make is I'd prefer 3241 like we saw earlier in the season.
Hold on, are you saying Sterling and Sane are faster than Rose and Walker? I highly doubt it. They may be equal but I find it very hard to believe that Sane and Sterling are that much faster than Walker or Rose which would necessitate both have to drop deep because they are scared of being caught out. You make it sound like Walker and Rose have the pace of Gary Neville. I've never seen Walker or Rose beaten for pace by any attackers.
By the way, Moses and Alonso aren't fit to lace the boots of Walker and Rose a wing backs, as was evident when Spurs beat Chelsea 2 nil.
