We'l win, pep will sort this shit out, write us off if you like at 5 points adrift, dippers will at some point have a bad patch, we can have that 5 point gap reduced to two on a good weekend

They're coming off the back of an embarrassing home defeat...

If Stones, Dias, and Akanji are fit, we'll beat them 2-0 at least. If any two of those three are out, expect 2-2 or 2-3.

Our weak midfield leaves an inexperienced / cobbled together defence exposed too often.

Stones can plug that DM gap and allow Kovacic to play rather than do the work of two men.

Losing at home to Ipswich isn’t exactly a great way to prepare for City at the Etihad, and starting the day in 10th, 7 points behind us, doesn’t exactly scream “in form,” either!

Let’s see who is fit for both teams and if we can stop the ball in behind our high line, then it helps nullify their biggest threat.

WE ARE SECOND.
FIVE POINTS OFF LIVERPOOL.
LIVERPOOL HAVE BEEN GREAT.
18 TEAMS WISH THEY WERE AS SHIT AS US.

Some of you need to pass around the fanny wipes and take a deep breath. 3/4 of the season is still to go and the sky is falling??? With 8 First Teamers injured and at least half of them coming back soon? We just lost an away game against the team that was 5th, with ALL FOUR of our starting CBs injured, an unfit Walker as the RCB in a back three where the CB was a young lad making his PL debut and our LCB has played marauding LB since he arrived!

Which part of “struggling to get through” are people missing, and why is ALL CONTEXT FOR THESE LOSSES being thrown out or completely ignored?

If Liverpool have won the League after 11 games, let’s give them the trophy and give everyone seven months off to get a good rest and get themselves ready for the 2025/26 season.

If not, then let’s think about getting back to winning ways and remember that the Title is still in our own hands and we don’t need anyone else’s help to win it.

4 in a row was unheard of, but 5 would be absolutely ridiculous! So, let’s see just how ridiculous this team can be from here and be in a position to take advantage of any slip up’s by others!

We are apparently waaaaay behind Liverpool, who have been bang on form, but they would only have to draw one and lose one for us to be level on points!!!

Pass the Fanny wipes and put Spurs to the sword at our place to get back on track!

I generally agree with this. The only unknown in my mind being this:

Liverpool owners, who are known as the FSG, are also known to go about accumulating and developing sports strategy expertise. Generally made famous by the words "Moneyball."* And I think they have been unhappy with Klopp and his "style" for quite a while because they found it to be too aggressive and too exuding or exhaustive of the players. So that they brought in Slot, a more defensive-minded manager to try and get "the best of both worlds" as they see it: A: Super fast and explosive players they have recruited but B: That are not mindlessly out-run and over-run at every and all opportunity (as per their take on what was happening under Klopp).

I generally happen to think that they are surely unwise to question Klopp. As well as that they are surely deeply misguided in the long term.

Not like they are totally clueless in their thinking.

* It is actually a very popular thing. A Brad Pitt movie was even made about it. They're Americans alright, but they really think they know what they're doing.

ps They also own Boston Red Sox. A very famous American baseball outfit.

Spurs are shite, but you know they will play like the 1970 Brazil team against us, as they always raise their game in their cup final at ours.
Nothing to do with them playing like 70s Brazil, it's how much room we currently give the opposition in our half. Any half decent manager will just pick their fastest two players against us and just say, stick on the last man and hoof it wide. Spurs right now should be getting some lightening quick kid from their youth team and telling him to stick wide.

Being intimately familiar with all of that, they do indeed have a team with a fast break, as Nunez goal provided, but they too have a squad in transition, with their two biggest names possibly in their last season, or certainly on the bad side of peaking.

It’s impossible to avoid such transitions, but Slot seems like a smart, level-headed practitioner of the game who has decided he is going to build his side around pragmatic defence and explosive attack, only when possible. He is more of a Klopp-Pep hybrid on his build-up play, which is ideal for the players he has to work with.

One wonders what Liverpool looks like without Becker, VVD, TAA, Robertson, Salah, and whom they bring in to replace them.

However, all that said, one has to understand one’s own sphere of control and manage that effectively, otherwise external factors start to control you.
