Not exactly the personnel i would have hoped but definitely a line up thats something akin to what i have been hoping for.

Lewis-Stones-Akanji-Ake
----------Rodri----------
-----Gundo--Grealish--
-Mahrez--Haaland--Alvarez

Just hoping he leaves it as a back 4.
if it is that id be concerned about our left side.

maybe in possesion it will be

Stones - Akanji - Ake

Lewis Rodders

Mahrez Gundog Grealish Alvarez

Haaalnd

the classic 3-2-4-1

Do either Stones or Akanji ever normally play LCB? Wondering if maybe it's a 3 at the back with Rico in midfield.
Could be

——Akanji—Stones—Ake
——-—-Lewis—-Rodri———
Mahrez—Gundo—Grealish
——-Alvarez—Haaland

More likely the normal shape, just Alvarez for De Bruyne as a second striker.

But who knows. Be interesting to see how it plays out.

Mahrez and Grealish have been our best attackers recently. Alvarez replacing an out of form de Bruyne. Walker likely needs rest and Aké has been better at left back than Cancelo this season, plus our best centre back returns

Not too sure what all the fuss is about

I don't think Pep will play Alvarez as the winger when we have Grealish playing well on the left.

Pep has some far out ideas, but this would be surprising.

Don't know what to make of it.

Midfield legs aren't there and little creativity, outside of Gundo.

Still, I applaud Pep for trying to work the problems.

He has the usual suspects on the bench and perhaps a few of them need this message.

Worried about Akanji in the air against Kane, but fascinated to see how Alvarez works off Haaland.

Any type of win will do.

Just put a deep sea diver on three corners for each team in each half @50/1..I don’t think this will be a cagey game.
