Spurs Thread 2012

Bale is super human. Blistering pace, hell of an engine as he just runs for 90 mins, perfect crosses he's got it all. Would love him at our club.

I'm not a fan of Bale. Aside from looking like an extra from Planet of the apes, he would cost far more than he is actually worth. His reputation is largely built on a couple of games in the champs league and he isn't consistent enough to justify his price tag or his overblown reputation. His player of the year award was a fucking joke.
Although when we get rid of Tevez we may be one short of our ugly player quota, so there is a possibility he'll sign.

Bale I dont rate him at all. Up against better defenders who can defend he is shit. Yes he has speed to burn so does Walcott and Lennon but it doesnt mean shit if they cant do it when it matters most in the big games.

Has he sorted his knees out? He seems to be playing a lot of games all of a sudden.. Thought you deserve the win but Arsenal looked a lot better than recent games they've played.. thought when it went to 1-1 they might of nicked it but a wonder swerving shot won it! A better goalie would of saved it though

No - the knee problem still remains but Ledley is able to get a game a week, so long as he rests up.

The problem last season was that on top of the knee problem, he picked-up other injuries which limited him to just six Premier League starts all season.

Yes, we made much harder work of that today than we should have and several good chances went begging.

He definitely had a rough patch in the 2nd half of last season, not helped by having the shit kicked out of him by the ordinary boys ie Neville, Adam etc but you can't say his reputation is just built on one or two games. Since the Manc horror games he has been superb, he looks fit again and is dangerous, have you seen any of Spurs last three games? Not just MOTD, the whole game?

Whats this about chants at yesterdays game, some of the lads at work mentioned hassle because of it on ssn. I had it on mute before and Harry was looking pissed of in a press meeting.

I watched the match but don't recall hearing anything, albeit i was doing other stuff and only half watching.

There was the usual Peado related Arsene wenger chants, and a couple of new ones at Ade about the Angola incident. "It should have been you, it should have been you, shot in Angola, it should have been you". Some stuff at Harry but I didn't here it

6 of one, half a dozen of the other as usual. Neither acceptable or humorous imo, a shame that it will overshadow what was a great game of football.

Ahh a few idiots manage to mess it up for the majority, hopefully a lifetime ban will sort them fookers out and free up some season tickets for proper fans.

Exactly he is so dangerous this year, practically taking on teams by himself. Loads of other players in the league have pace like Lennon and Walcott but none of them can do a thing with it. Bale will get the ball, turns on the after burners and just powers his way through the defence and then either sets up a goal or has a good shot on goal himself.
