Joe Lewis has a net worth of more that £4.5 billion.

If he paid for the staff wages out of his own pocket he would run out of money in 1800 years.

But no, lets ask the likes of me and you to pay it for him.

There is no defence.

Of course I see where you are coming from.

But again, it's not that simple.

Lewis' wealth isn't in cash. The vast majority of it is tied up in the myriad companies that constitute his Tavistock Group. And most of those companies will also be haemorrhaging money right now. I don't know exactly, but would guess, that those companies employ a total in the hundreds of thousands of people.

Is Lewis to pay the wages for all whose jobs are currently at risk from his own pocket?

If he did, he would likely run out of money (say a generous £500m in liquid assets) within 18 weeks!

I've been posting on and off on here for years. I get on fine with the majority of regulars even if they disagree with me. I don't troll about City. I defend my club when I believe posts about it to be unfair or inaccurate or at least deserving of the contribution of a different perspective. I'm never abusive. Nor precious when, as sometimes occurs, others are abusive towards me (I get that it comes with the territory of posting on another club's forum). That doesn't mean that I won't stand my ground, though!

Other City fans on here seem to appreciate civilly and good-humouredly discussing Spurs, and a few other wider matters relating to football, with me so.....with my respect to you too.....I'll carry on posting in the manner that I always have until they tell me that I've outstayed my welcome.

You are quite correct, in my opinion, that you are entitled to defend your club and your posts are appreciated but I have no idea where you are coming from with regards this issue.

However please carry on as it would be boring if we all saw the world in the same way.

OK little club supporter. Keep defending a club that gives a £3M bonus to their chairman the same week they grovel to the taxpayer for cash. I'll continue to call you out on such bullshit. Enjoy your stay here weirdo.

LOL! Consider me well and truly butthurt. What possible comeback can I have to such a witticism? ;-)

The £3m bonus was paid at the end of the financial year, summer 2019. Not that a little fact like that should get in the way of you calling me out on bullshit, obviously.

Enjoy your stay here weirdo.

Again! I can see that you're too much for me. Oscar Wilde, Winston Churchill and Dorothy Parker all rolled into one....

Fuck off. This is a City forum. Dick
3m bonus for delivering late and over budget, yet too cheap to spend on players. Joke club, with a joke chairman and even bigger joke of a manager. Good luck winning fuck all for the foreseeable future

I see you’re making new friends again Jim ;)

Yes, congratulations to Spurs on the foresight of seeing the looming disaster ahead and the prudence of their billionaire owners and directors of one England's largest clubs maximising as much money as they can from the state at a time society may need the revenue the most.
Credit where it is due Frank. This is the first time (I think) I have agreed with you. Well said.
