I think City and Spurs have been similar sized clubs for most of their history, which started well before the PL era. There has often been an edgy relationship between the fans but I am not sure why because we have a lot in common. Both clubs grew up in working class multi-racial areas with very loyal and passionate fanbases.
Now we are in the money but have mostly retained our hard-core Mancunian support. We get accused of being plastics but I can honestly say that, apart from the bigger CL nights, we still don't get many tourists at our matches. The culture at Spurs and City is very different to Arsenal and United.
I thought last Sunday's match was possibly the best atmosphere I have ever been in at any football match. It was a cauldron of sheer noise in a fantastic stadium.. Spurs really do deserve to get a team in there that is worthy of that support.
