Excellent info/insight, will be very useful in dealing with a Spurs chum of mine!Just compiling some financial figures for a KOTK article and while I'm not a great believer in net spend as a metric, over the longer term it does paint a picture.
Of the so-called 'Big 6' over the 6 seasons to 2019/20 (when the last sets of accounts are available) our net spend has been £750m, United's around £650m, Arsenal (surprisingly) £450m with Chelsea & Liverpool around £350m.
Over the same 6-year period, Spurs' net spend has been just £2m. That's not a mistake; it's two million.
Levy shouldn't be able to show his face at WHL without a phalanx of security guarding him from furious fans. He's cheated them.
Do you or any of our other financially savvy Blues on here have any similar insight into the total amount of money taken as dividends and other (usually) offshore payments during this period from each of our main rivals' financial turnover/performance?
I regularly suggest to friends supporting other teams that they should be asking 'Where's the money gone?' of the Glazers, Kroenke et al rather than moaning about City's so-called 'state-backed riches'
The amounts leached out of each club during this period must be humongous, especially given the growth in cash available from TV deals via UEFA and the Premier League.
Look forward to reading your article in 'KOTK'.
