Spurs Thread - 2023/24

City and Chelsea being fucked by FFP is not our the only hope of success. But it is helpful.

I simply do not accept that supporting FFP has not been in Spurs best interests. We have improved massively both on and off the field since 2009. And the fact that FFP will rain down shit on some of our rivals as well is an added bonus.

Your absolute blind faith that City have not breeched FFP, and even if they had the FA could never prove it, and even if they did prove it you would only get a small fine does not inspire complete confidence. And the fact that the FA continue to pursue case so aggressively seems to suggest they think they have a better than realistic chance of success. Your belief that you will get a slap on the wrist seems particularly misguided given the FA really enjoyed bending Everton over after they admitted the offences and co-operated with investigation. It seems unlikely they would be more lenient on you lot given you are denying the offence and obstructing the investigation. I would expect them to make an example of you.
Why don't you just go back to one of your own moaning forums? Let's not forget your club's last title was nearer to Victorian times than 13th December 2023. Add to that since you last won the FA Cup, the Premier League has been formed, There has been a Millennium, A hung Parliament, Greece have won the European Championship, Blackburn and Leicester have won the league, oh and of course you greedy bastards haven't lulled anyone in to sponsor the Tot Pot Stadium. Do one.

Point of order it’s the Premier League and not the FA investigating City. Another thing you don’t seem to have knowledge about, if you are going to come onto another teams forum, please come with reasoned arguments backed up with facts as everything you have outlined has been torn to pieces. I’m done debating with an oxymoron, no more internet for you today.

You’ve not even outlined what the specifics of Citys case is and comparing it to Everton’s demonstrates your serious lack of knowledge once again.

Noted - re Premier League.

You suggest my arguments are unreasoned. For the avoidance of doubt, here they are

I don't know the specifics of City's case. However, the charges seem to suggest that City acted deliberately and dishonestly to mislead the Premier League to gain an advantage. And they did this on many occasions. I say that is more serious than Everton's well-meaning but reckless gamble that did not pay off, their remorse and their co-operation. You disagree.

You say that City's behaviours is completely OK. The Premier League don't agree. Nevertheless you say there is no risk at all to City. I say you face a significant risk of a very severe punishment.

I say Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc would very much benefit from City being punished. And I hope they throw the book at you. And I suspect other Clubs feel the same. You don't like that view or think it is true.

I say FFP very much benefited Spurs. Mainly because it will fuck City and Chelsea. You say it didn't benefit Spurs at all and it means that Spurs will never win anything.

You also seem very angry that Spurs have not won any trophies. And they have bad songs. And this makes Spurs a "garbage" club. I disagree.

I think Spurs can and will win major trophies. You are completely astonished and outraged by this.

You are posting "I hope they throw the book at you" on a City forum?

What is your evidential basis for hoping they throw the book at City?

There we go, you don’t know the specifics of City’s case but you’re on here trying to comment on it and get a rise out of it.

Have you actually heard legal people talk about City’s case rather than pundits and newspaper hacks who have no clue? The charges are so serious that if they are landed it will be the biggest scandal in U.K. companies history. Here in lies the problem for the Premier League, they have set the criteria out of the charges for such a long period of time and at the same time going fishing after Mancini’s wages and player image rights (which Uefa never did and found no issue with).

They have been investigating this for three years and sat on it as they have no more evidence than what Uefa did. Hacked emails don’t mean anything without the relevant transactions, all they have is City’s accounts and their opinion City have done wrong. They don’t have actual evidence which City have declined to give them hence the non co-operation charge. The bar is so high and the accusations are so fanciful, the Premier league will have a massive job to land any of the major ones. Do you actually know this?????

When have I made any disparaging remarks about what songs Spurs sing? You need to look back through what I said and examine that claim.

You do seem like a bit of a weird fantasist making up fake stories about Spurs being relegation candidates when they have only finished outside of the top 10 once in the last 23 years. Surely you should know about your own club and not be corrected by someone who doesn’t support Spurs?

I say I say I say FFS

Why are you on here?
