Very similar feeling from that game as I got watching Arsenal completely implode at Old Trafford last season. Spurs in fairness have been very impressive so far this season, but that was their first bit of adversity and they crumbled like a soggy biscuit.

They (Spurs) were in absolute control of that match, until that completely reckless challenge from Udogie seemed to fire Chelsea up and the game became more even. Then that complete head case Romero had a hack at a Chelsea player that went unpunished but soon after followed though after a tackle in the area and was rightly dismissed.

Chelsea huffed and puffed with Spurs still looking the more likely winners until Udogie got his marching orders. If they had not kept such a high line after going down to nine they could easily have got a point.

Chelsea were frankly awful.

I don’t think this is true. We had gotten on top for like 10 mins before Spurs lost their heads. Had two goals disallowed and we had a 1 v 1. They started like a runaway train but once we weathered the storm, we had started to get on top we completely deserved the equaliser.

After that they lost the plot completely and that’s on them. They were definitely not looking the more likely winners at 1-1 with 10 men. We bossing the game comfortably at that point. We only started to panic a little when they went down to 9 men and the goal didn’t come quickly. But once they started to take an extra touch we were getting in behind that suicidal high line with ease.

Again i will repeat 11 v 11 and after a poor start Chelsea were the better team.
If Jackson had his shooting boots on they would have been in front before the penalty.
The high line was getting beat by Raz,Cole and James throughout the first half.
A myth that it was only when they were down to 9 men that it became a problem.

Crucial injuries. KDB is obviously better, but one may argue Maddison (on this season form) is more influential for Tottenham than former for City cause of simple reason Spurs doesnt have a players of calibre of Alvarez/Foden to fill the gap. Van de ven also had a strong start, definitely is much better player than Dier/Davies. Romero is a bit brainless, but still high level player on and off the ball.

Maybe not fair to Spurs, but never been really worried about title race against them or anything. Just knew about collapse, but maybe not that spectacular, rapid and in a single moment. Thought its going to be some kind of a process over longer period.

Our advantage that we are going against them soon enough.

Maddison and Van de ven will both be big misses for Spurs until the new year. Especially Maddison who has had a great start to this season. Always liked his style of play and thought he could do a job at City.

Also sad for him that just when even Southgate couldn't even ignore his tallent anymore and he could of had a start for England he is missing out due to injury.
