Spurs Thread | 2025/26

I am sure there is an explanation to this I am missing - owner can just chuck £100 into the club?
This is borderline taking the piss.

Tottenham's major shareholders are essentially bragging about the fact that £100M is being injected into the club because "they're worth it"

What the actual fuck?

I'm still waiting to hear from one of our tenacious bloodhounds in the media, asking "where is the money coming from and how has it passed the PL stringent laws, while MCFC are being charged for financial irregularities?"

Surely there's got be an Arsenal supporting journalist out there that can ask a few awkward questions.

I don’t understand how they can spend money that isn’t classed as income via sponsorship; gate money; prize money etc. isn’t that what PSR is all about and if an owner can chuck in 100 million, why are we being charged? @slbsn (sorry to bother you again) is there a simple explanation?

Cash and PSR are completely different. This is just cash - cash can be put in via a loan (with costs inc interest) or equity (no ongoing cost). All clubs inc City have had cash put in by owners outside of PSR issues.

Thanks @slbsn . So with regard to our charges (& I know they are more complex than this ) but rather than produce fraudulent accounts & hide payments - could our owner have just chucked in a few hundred million to see us through the hard times?
If it’s too complicated to explain just say so. It’s hard to keep going over the same stuff for those of us that don’t get it properly:-)

No this is conflating cash (CFG has put cash in and SM before them). The case is that, in short, the published numbers are false.

Clubs raising money to pay bills and invest is normal as they are almost all loss making every year.

Excuse my ignorance here. But if "cash" is a way of, seemingly, getting around the PSR rules, why aren't more clubs doing it? . And if it is a way around PSR, what's the point of PSR?

The distinction is that if it goes to the balance sheet,eg a loan, that is not PSR. The interest will be on the P&L and funds will be counted in PSR if they are subsequently spent on PSR items eg transfer fees.

Calm down. They are just buying newly issued shares, which is how the good sheik funded City. What the club subsequently do with the cash is what is regulated. If they build a new cheese room, that is not PSR, but if they buy Rashford then it is PSR.

That's fair enough.

However, I've got a sneaking suspicion that if it was Sheikh Mansour announcing MCFC were getting a £100M cash injection, there might be one or two in the media asking questions.

So far your the only person who has explained how Tottenham are managing to do this.

The media don't seem to think it's that big a deal.

What could possibly go wrong with having two joint sporting directors? Johan Lange, on the left, looks thrilled that Paratici is back.

I'll take a cheese room wiith Port but not fucking Rashford ;-)

Not a happy ship in spurs dressing room i reckon

Really enjoying the Spurs meltdown at the moment. I don't know why, probably that CL game, but I am enjoying that their fans are ruining their own club through their stupid ott expectations.

Yup. Despite the euro trophy, Spurs were in a mess when Frank took over. He needs time and attacking him is silly. The reaction to those players leaving the pitch is OTT, it’s not a sign that they are fed up with Frank— they just didn’t fancy getting booed.

Pair of wankers, should be sent to train with the kids / pick up litter for a month on minimum wage. DJed Spence ffs - a player markedly less talented than say Richard Edghill and I mean no disrespect to Edgy there.

Won’t happen of course. These flouncing ponces hold all the cards these days and that’s a big reason why your average working class fan has grown so disillusioned with the game
