Spurs Tickets now at £20 / £10

I understand what people are saying about the game not selling out. But you have to remember the following facts

there were only 300 tickets left when they made this offer
people have had to fork out for 2 wembley trips
its on a school night
its was £48
these are hard times and people just cant afford it.

If people can go and can afford it I would hope that they are there, but if they cant go then it does not make them less loyal than anybody else.

We as a group of fans are right to be annoyed at "day tripers" who just go to the big games but like somebody already said, We seem to have a regular fanbase who attent of about 45'000, the rest go if they can afford it or can get there

Be interesting to see if Spurs sell out

Since the start of 2011 and the Blackpool game i don't think we have sold out one home game and the crowds at home games have tailed off slightly which staggers me when we are on the verge of the Champions League and in the F.A Cup Final. Our gates have only gone up by a couple of thousand since the days of Sven and Shinawatra and the numbers we take to away games have not kicked on, no idea what the club has to do to get the extra numbers.

Lots of skint people out there at the moment, unfortunately.

Still surprised though that this isn't a sell out at normal prices.

State of the nation....

well i hope city can attract some new fans soon, because i know for a fact the way ticket prices are going my days will soon be over.

still i have seen city at about 130 different grounds, never seen us win a jot, and now the good days are on the horizon, my money soon won't be good enough.

59 quid for chelsea next season, arsenal and utd announcing rises, 49 quid at fulham, same at spurs, 46 at liverpool and most of the others touching 40 quid.

and the sad thing is there is no sign of ticket prices reaching their maximum, i wish there was 10000 empty seats tomorrow, its no use to people like me seeing the grounds jam packed, it only gives the clubs even more excuse to keep hiking.

i know one things for sure though, price me out and i would never return.

Is exactly right.
I have to take half a day off work and am travelling up from Southampton for this, should be a great night but the reality is some people cannot afford it, especially those that have paid over the odds for Wembley tickets.

BTW Kiam06, as I will be there, turn up at City Square and I'll buy ya a pint, lemonade mind, as I reckon you are about 12 ;o)

speaking as one of the fans the club are trying to attract with this offer(the bombardment of texts city send me every day) i feel I can give a fair opinion on why were struggling to sell the seats.

I attend around ten games a season. This season I have atteded home league games against chelsea, arsenal, united, liverpool and villa all £52 with villa about £48 with the £20 city card as well thats an average league game price of about £55.

Bear in mind the seats have often been crap. Put on top of this the fact that us city card holders have no chnace of a ticket for the semi or final, which you may or may not agree with has hacked off many city card holders the fact we didnt even get a sniff. I know a lot have thought why should I shell out £55 a game with no chance of a ticket for the real big games (semi's and final) just saying how I see it.

Its not opinion I go when I can but fans are getting hacked off and when your asking fans for £50 for a one of game its does seem like a one of treat rather than something you would choose to do most weeks. Thats why have been going cup games this season much better value.

So to sum up city card holders are hacked off cos our money seems good enough for legaue games but not for the semi and final.

-- Mon May 09, 2011 6:38 pm --

the fans that would be buying these tickets are not season ticket holders so there was no wembley trips to pay for. people are just simply not thinking its good value for money

you are quite right, the only thing i would say mate is if you have spent over 500 quid on tickets for 10 games, you may as well have got a season ticket, at least you are in the queue for the big games, and your outlay would have been the same, even recoup a bit if you know folk who would have your ticket when you couldnt make it.

We averaged more in the first season at COMS and the second season the crowds are more or less the same as this season so i am left scratching my head why we can't sell out home games in the second part of the season. Are City fans poorer than most similar sized clubs, one thing it does prove is we haven't really attracted any day trippers.

Crowds have gone up a lot and last time I looked they were 46k. When you think that away fans rarely sell out eg West Ham then there really isn't much room for improvement

After seasoncards and away fans, there are few match-tickets left so the club will make them expensive to maximise revenue and make seasoncards more attractive

The Cup crowds were disappointing, but maybe the olic of selling Final tickets to Cup direct members may help next season.
