Spurs v Arsenal Postponed

Literally the first thing I said when they announced this criteria for calling off games was it will get abused. I don't even blame the clubs for doing it, they're just looking after their interests and taking advantage of the Premier league being completely incompetent. Injuries, internationals, suspensions etc should never have been in the discussion, they're part of the game, covid isn't. How's it fair that a squad of 21 outfield players can have 7 covid cases and still have to play yet the same sized squad with 3 away on international duty, 4 injuries and 2 covid cases can get the game postponed?

It was clear as day the second they brought in the rule, even if they rectify it now and make it just about covid as it always should have been, it just further makes a mockery of the idea of "fairness" some clubs have benefitted, others haven't, closing the loophole just prevents other clubs benefitting in the near future and evening it out a bit.

Only thing they can do to even begin to fix this shitshow is ban anybody that was unavailable for anything other than covid for the rearranged fixture.

"it doesn't happen in other leagues" if you are blind to the Championship, League 1 & 2 who had the majority of Xmas period postponed.

You still can get the games called off if you lose 3 players to internationals in League 1 & 2.

It messes Spurs about so fuck them, also it could save a few lives.
