spurs v west ham

Great result for us, i think most people would ave expected the spuds to get all 3 points today and i guess most people would be happy to come away from Chelsea with a point, giving a 2 point swing to Spuds.

Now even if we lose we are only one point worse off than most of us would have expected.

I still think it's going to come down to when the two teams meet but if we can win that then 4th is there for the taking. i'm sorry to admit i am not concerned about the rags winning the league now, if they can take all three points of Chelsea and Arse we will have a good chance of third.

Bridge proves his worth
An outstanding display by Wayne Bridge set the tone for a fine Hammers awayday at Spurs

That's his 1 great game in 10 then or am I being generous

Wayne Bridge demonstrated his international class with a terrific performance in the goalless draw at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The left-back gave a masterclass in defending whoever he was up against on the left flank, with Spurs seeing first Aaron Lennon and then Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart frustrated by the No36. Bridge was rightly presented with the Sky Sports man of the match prize but he was more pleased with the result for the team, who will finish the weekend outside the bottom three.
Bridge said: "Defensively it was my best game since joining the club. I was up against Aaron who is really quick. You try not to give him too much room but Matty [Upson] was helping me out and we didn't give him too much room to play."
He was also undeterred when Welsh winger Bale was moved over to his side to try and offer a different threat. "Gareth is used to cutting inside. I tried to stay with him because I know how quick he is and I was just trying to read him really. I had to stay as tight as possible and again not give him too much room."
The point could prove pivotal come the end of the season but it needed some superb saves from Robert Green on the occasions the defence was unable to stop the Spurs surge. "Rob has been tremendous ever since I have been here," added Bridge. "Today he pulled out some outstanding saves. He was great."

Hate to see them win anything, but I'm resigned to them winning the league. Therefore I would agree with you. Let them put a spanner in the works for Arsenal and Chelsea.

I was expecting Spurs and Chelsea to win, so whatever happens tomorrow we're ahead of where I expected to be.

Huge blow for Spurs. Their away form is poor, so they have to win at home.

I thought a similar thing last season when they had to play arsenal, chelsea and us. Yet somehow they managed to pull it off.

We must win tomorrow and at least this will give us a bit of breathing space should we make any cock ups during our run in

Spurs 'poor' away form:

Won 6, Drawn 4 = Total Points: 22

Manchester City's massively brilliant away form:

Won 6, Drawn 4 = Total Points: 22

Well only Arsenal have won more points away in the Premier League this season than Spurs have, so I'm simply questioning how our away form can be called "poor".

My point is, no one claimed we have a brilliant away form.

after tomorrow we have to go too anfield of any significence, wereas you have to come to us, rent boys, anfield.

Spuds might drop points against Wigan. Then you have Liverpool, chelsea, City...all away.

let's see what your away form is showing after that :DDDDD

Oh..and have fun playing Arsenal at your home too. Some more points dropped for Spuds :D

And when you already have 1 eye on the real madrid games. Let's see how your squad can handle the rest of the season. I personally have a feeling that Spuds might struggle this time. :D

As the media keep telling us, their beloved Spurs are capable of beating anyone on their day. Although they often struggle for consistency, it wouldn't surprise me if they were to put a run together like last season. We also know their record in head to heads against us.

So they are still a very real threat and it is up to us to sort our own faltering away form out and take advantage while they are dropping a few points. Today would be a good start.

I was referring to form not the whole season.

In recent away games you lost at Blackpool, had a lucky draw at Wolves and a lucky win at Sunderland. You're not playing well, and neither are Modric or Van der Vaart.

City's form has dipped too. Probably due to the same reason....too much football, and a few injuries. But the point is we are 4 points ahead of you and you have 9 games left so you have to be better than City over the rest of the season to catch us.

In the interests of completeness

Man City P14 W6 D4 L4 F22 A14 GD +8
Spurs P15 W6 D4 L5 F22 A24 GD -2
