Spurs vs City post match

Thought Fernando was poor but didn't see how he was any worse than Fernandinho. You can't win them all, and the first loss of the season came in the best possible circumstances- away to one of the next best teams in the league while we were missing two key players and another couldn't start. I'd love to know why Sagna wasn't starting though. Plus I don't think Sané had enough time.

The international break will do us good. Nolito back when we return, our third highest scorer so it's a big boost. Plus De Bruyne will be back shortly after. I don't really count Kompany getting back as a boost anymore because three times in a year he's not even managed to finish his comeback game without injury.

We'll need to be better but find me a team that doesn't lose a few games a season. At least we lost a hard one. United couldn't beat Stoke at home so cheer up Blues :)

The thing that struck me was, in previous games, when there was a loose ball, 8 times out of 10 we would end up with possession. This game it was like the other way around. It was almost like our players were standing off and not really giving everything in the challenges. In previous games I had marvelled at how we were able to get the ball back so consistently and (maybe wrongly) concluded that it was the coaching that had improved us so much. Today was more like last season in this respect. Very disappointing.

RE: Fullbacks, I suspect that the plan at City is to make do with what we've got for this season and see how quickly Angelino and Maffeo improve. However, I think Pep got 2/2 desicions wrong on fullbacks today, would've used Clichy and Sagna.

The amount of knicker wetting on here is frankly unbelievable. Pep picked the right team-because he sees the players, not us. We looked leggy and hungover from Wednesday, which is understandable. Spurs ran us off our feet in the first half. Second half we played well. The squad isn't as deep as some would have it. Its been a remarkable start to the season. Have some faith.

Glaring miss by Silva before we gifted them a goal. It could have been very different.

Wish Nolito hadn' t been so stupid, Sterling not as effective on the left.

Played poorly by recent stadards but still had more possession, and only one less shot on and off target. You have to take your chances.

I still can't believe that Pep played Fernando as the defensive 1 in an attacking 4-1-4-1 formation. It's a jaw on the floor decision, it really is. A total brain fart.

I keep thinking that I'll wake up just in time for the match to start.

Our first choice back four is Sagna, Stones, Otamendi & Clichy as things stand and they should start every game if fit.

Bullied by an average no-mark like Wanyama and the aggressiveness of Rose and Sissoko.

Silva has never liked it up him and the ability to squeeze and turn a ball into an offensive situation drops out of sight when KDB is not in the side.

Zabba and Kolarov need to go in January.

Sadly mate......Zab and Kolarov should have gone 12 months ago! All those great signings over the summer but sadly for the 2 straight summer transfer window we didnt fill one of the biggest needs in the team.....this is going to be our main weakness again this season....as you correctly say, lets hope we are working on signing a couple of fullbacks in the Jan window...

Fernando, Navas, Zabaleta, and Kolarov should not play any big game this season. They are simply past it/not good enough. Liabilities all of them.

First half was terrible. We improved after Gundogan came on.

Spurs weren't great but pressed really well, they had so much energy . I watched them at home vs Sunderland and they struggled to win, looked lethargic in the process. Today they looked like a team full of marathon runners, a bit odd.

This is just a bump in the road and more will come but we'll win the league.

We recovered more loose ball than Spurs.
