Gotta say, it's somewhat fun to associate numbers with players. But on the other hand, placing too much importance on them could generate unnecessary pressure on the would-be successors of said numbers.

I always ridicule the Rags for overemphasizing the importance of their number 7, that unneeded pressure is what mostly caused many wearers of that number post-Ronaldo to have a massive dip in form (Valencia, Di Maria, Depay...). Of course, that or Owen just placed a stinking curse on that number.

Haaland doesn't fit 10 in my very outdated view. Phil fits it, Gabby could switch to 10 and give Alfie Jr. 9. Gabby fits 10 like a glove. If Grealish comes I'd like him to have 10.

Tbh, even if he wore 10 for years, Kun will always be nr. 16 for me

GJ would likely to have been an 8 in the old days.

Hope it never needs to be retired we need to remember Kun what better way than seeing his shirt still gracing our game.
My first hero wore that shirt and I still have the chance to remember Nelly every time the No. 10 is on show

in fact the dream end to this season and Kun’s career would be to beat Leicester in the FA Cup Final 1-0 and No. 10 scores the winner

i know sergio wore no 10 in the end, however i will always associate him with 16
