Foden's grandad died at 47, that's why he wears it so i think its staying for good.
I know fella, but marketing & all that comes with it will eventually win the day, I’d be very surprised if he stays with 47, the 21 shirt & it’s significance to our club is a good opportunity, which he possibly wanted to earn first, also when you consider how rarely the more sought after numbers become available, then I’m sure he’s giving it some thought (along with his management co) he’s marked his grandads passing by choosing 47 initially & plays with 20 for England but Foden 21 has a nice ring to it

21 wasn't a sought after number before David. He could equally make 47 sought after.
