Have a Skoda Octavia 08 plate.

The rear driver side brakes are very squeaky. They only tend to this when I gently apply the brake but gets a heck of a lot louder the more I drive the car.

Have read on a few forums about applying copper grease to the pads and discs, checking anti-rattle springs on the brakes, etc.

Replacing the pads and discs altogether has also been mentioned. (Not gonna be likely as they are virtually new)

I'm aware it's a common problem with some of these cars but was also wondering if anyone else has had experience with dealing with these issues?

Cheers all.

I had exactly the same problem until I realised it stopped when I turned the radio up.

Im experience squeaky brakes usually means new pads etc , or a bit of dirt/grit has gotten into the brakes ....

but i agree , turning the radio up usually solves the problem !

Light smear of copper grease to the back of the pads maybe definitely not on the discs. Sounds like you may have had not original parts fitted.
