Who do you HONESTLY think will go through overall?

I'm sticking loyal and going with city :D

Hamburg are a big club compared to us: 6 time German champs + European cup runners-up and winners in 1980+81, plus loads of other trophy wins! They are joint top of their league and have come through very impressively against Galataseray in the last round of UEFA!

However, the Bundesliga is not a great quality league! They lost 4-1 to bottom of the league B.Munchengladback 3 weeks ago and they do have 5 starting players out!

City are so unpredictible and inconsistent its unbelievable! we are always as good/bad as our opposition! We can win 6-0 or lose 6-0! This all comes from lack of quality...any team can play well once a month but are shite as fuck the rest of the time! only teams with good quality throughout the team can be consistent!

We need to work hard tonight, we dont work hard enough and that bites us right in the arse when we dont have great quality (look at Everton they arent flush with high quality players but they all work hard so they gain consistency), if we do work hard and stay in the tie (with a draw or only a one goal defeat) we will have a GREAT chance at home!

I've watched the Bundeliga all season and have been really suprised by the quality of the football. It's on a different level to French or Dutch football and in general currently better than Serie A. Obviously Inter would win the Bundesliga but I'd say there are more quality team in germany than Italy. I think the Bundesliga is currently under rated because they lack a really top side or 2. In the past they always had Bayern and Dortmund etc but at the moment these teams are struggling. But asie from that, the quality of the league is high.

However, I expect City to win. HSV don't have the squad to handle the injuries and amount of games they've played and still have to play. The lack of quality in the central of defence and midfield will cost Hamburg. Jol is a fantastic coach, but there isn't much he can do when the core of his team is so weak. They never replaced De Jong or VDV and they still haven't got a half decent partner for Mathijsen in defence. Until they get suitable players for these postions, i can't see Hamburg winning anything.

If we start with Fernandes due to VK being out were screwed, I know we don't have many other options but he's pants

obviously we wont go gung ho we are capable of keeping clean sheet here!!!! no honestly! dont laugh and then tan their sorry arses at eastlands, but in reality i have gone for 1-1 and backed shaun@70\1 for 1st goal, robinho at 40s and the boj @ 55s...... dink dank dooooooo

I know what you're saying; i watch Setanta with the German games n that! The Bundesliga is probably the most attacking football you will see in Europe, not like the Prem when all you get is the away team sitting on the edge of their box and the home team having to break them down, both teams in Germany (even if bottom are playing top) go out to win the game outright!

However, the reason i say it isnt of great quality is because of the level of players who play there - there are some world class players, dont get me wrong, (Mario Gmoez, Franck Ribery) - but when Stalteri (ex-Spurs reject) is one of the leagues best left backs, even ahead of Lahm then that league is not that great!

But hey the Italian coach said recently that the German league is better than the Italian league!
