Yes, Yes, but do you have an answer?

Ha ha ha.

Whilst I was replying to your insults you deleted them. Smooth.

What I had written in response to your original post in which you called me delusional and a fantasist was that there are enough people on this board who have both met me, and spent enough time with me to know what I'm all about - so forgive me if I don't care whether you think I'm a credible poster or not...

Mancio - I really genuinely think Mancini is a top class manager. I have said that from the day he was appointed. Both in public, and in pm's to the few people from here I chat with privately. With respect to my posts about him being a "negative" manager, or complaining about his tactics or team selection...it's natural and what messageboards are here for. Venting, chatting, discussing, whatever. I'm not a football coach nor a manager, so my opinion is just my uninformed opinion.

I deleted the post as I though better of being drawn into name calling on what is otherwise a very pleasant evening.

Still interested in why you think Mancini will not be given the same transfer policy as Hughes.

I think the owners will want someone from their side having a big say in which players to sign. I'm not saying that they'd dictate 100%, but certainly the manager wouldn't be given carte blanche Huhges was given. Probably a compromise where the manager never has a player he doesn't want imposed upon him, but must have the approval of the appointed director before any player can be signed.

Either way it'll be closer to the system employed by Barca and by Real Madrid, than the kind of autocracy's that Wenger and Ferguson run...

.

this is the Italian way , mancini is accustomed to.

just a question mate , who do you think is the most football/players expert actually at City ? I mean... who more than mancini is ?

and another , why may be so difficult to you to deal with the fact that mancini actually IS the owner's man/side ?

To be honest I'm just giving my opinion on how I think the owners are approaching the long term future of the club. It's nothing personal about Mancini, just a business decision. Owners are expected to shell out tens of millions of euros for players. It stands to reason that they will want a say in where the money goes.

Billy, do you think they learnt from the Robinho thing? Buying a really BIG name is good as a symbol of intent, but it can also bring some other problems with it.

I don't think it's about imposing players upon the manager Sharon, that's the key. It's more about making sure that as owners they have a veto. My personal opinion, the direct result of the Santa Cruz and Lescott signings.

That would be answer b then.

I can't start a new topic as this is my first post. Somebody needs to start a new topic and tell those that are interested to look on the UFC website as there is a famous fighter wearing a city shirt. His name is Renzo Gracie and he worn the shirt at the weigh-ins this evening.

to be honest, i think bobby will have his rights to pick whoever he thinks will take the club forward. it will be his decision who's in and who's out. in fact, he was doing it for inter milan for many years. why can't he do it with us?

To progress we need 1st choice creative mid, rb & lb. Cover for fb and poss cover for cf. Hopefully last 2 from acadamy

to be fair, no manager is going to come out and say oh yeah im gonna spend shed loads of cash! but i have faith in bobbys wheeling and dealin - just look at adam johnson! although if we do make champo league, may need slightly higher calibre player than jonno im afraid to say

We don't need to spend big. We have a top squad, we need to fine tune it with a player here or there, specifically a creative midfielder, and a left back.

If Mancinis future signings are anything like Johnson, fuck me.

GoalkeepersShay Given (IRL) Joe Hart * (ENG) Stuart Taylor (ENG) DefendersDedryck Boyata (BEL) Greg Cunningham (IRE) Javan Vidal (ENG) Joleon Lescott (ENG) Sylvinho (BRA) Wayne Bridge (ENG) Javier Garrido (ESP) Shaleum Logan * (ENG) Nedum Onuoha (ENG) Micah Richards (ENG) Kolo Toure (CIV) Pablo Zabaleta (ARG) MidfieldersAbdisalam Ibrahim (NOR) Adam Johnson (ENG) Gareth Barry (ENG) Patrick Vieira (FRA) Nigel de Jong (NED) Kelvin Etuhu * (NGR) Stephen Ireland (IRL) Michael Johnson (ENG) Vincent Kompany (BEL) Martin Petrov (BUL) Vladimir Weiss* (SVK) Shaun Wright-Phillips (ENG) StrikersEmmanuel Adebayor (TGO) Craig Bellamy (WAL) Valeri Bojinov * (BUL) Felipe Caicedo * (ECU) Jô * (BRA) Benjani Mwaruwari* (ZIM) Robinho * (BRA) Roque Santa Cruz (PRY) Carlos Tevez (ARG)

This is our squad as per official site. Players with * out on loan and expect them to be either sold, released or loaned out again next season. In total 36 players minus the loan players takes us to 28 players. Of the above squad 4 are GYLs leaving a squad of 24 senior players. Of the 24 senior players I can see that Sylvinho might be released and also Petrov. I suspect Viera might get another year. That will take us to 22 players. Squads for next year will be limited to 25 players so on a purely mathematical basis that allows for three players to come in. I think we need another left back and a right back. The third player depending on who is available might be another midfield player but if Johnson is back fully fit can't see it. The third player I suspect might depend on who is available and whether or not our marquee signing Robinho is allowed to leave or not. If for example Torres wants out I wouldn't rule out a hugh bid to get him. IMO I can' t see us signing anyone other than a couple of full backs and even paying over the odds 15m each that will take our spending to around 30m. If we do sell any of the loan players we might recoup half of that so I can see that overall we won't be splashing the cash.

If we spend wisely we don't have to spend big...Anyway why alert clubs to the fact we are gonna splash it about...seems a bit silly tbh.

I would be happy with:
Joe hart back
Clichy-left back-17mill
Chiellini-centre back- 20mill
Arteta-centre mid- 20mill
Gerrard-centre mid- 25mill
Modric-cover for left right and centre- 16mill
Villa- striker- 40mill
Balotelli- striker- 15mill

So yes I want him to spend big!
