Stadium Developments thread - San Siro to be demolished (p56)

They are supposed to be back in a partially completed stadium in November, looking at the recent pictures I would be amazed if it happens.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they spent next season at the Olympic stadium as well.

I think the idea was to get the bottom 2 tiers ready with the new changing rooms etc and then play and build around the construction.

Barcelona. For club that’s over £1bill in debt, Barcelona are doing an excellent job of funding the €1.4bill redevelopment of the Camp Nou, aren’t they Tebas? ;-)

Spanish soccer giants Barcelona have agreed a €1.45-billion ($1.6-billion) financing deal for their Espai Barça project that will see work begin to renovate the iconic Camp Nou stadium.

How to change an 85,000 capacity football stadium into a 85,000 capacity indoor arena.

The video is slightly old as the Bernabéu is now completed.

The new Santiago Bernabéu stadium (home of Real Madrid) boasts a groundbreaking retractable pitch technology, offering unmatched versatility and event flexibility. Imagine a massive tray system holding the entire pitch, complete with grass, soil, and drainage. This tray weighs a staggering 3,000 tons! Underneath the pitch lies a gigantic "hypogeum," essentially a climate-controlled underground garage. Eight massive steel carts, each carrying a section of the tray, run on rails that connect the pitch to the hypogeum.

As great as the CO-OP is would have been a good way to save space for other developments and get a bigger arena if we turned the Etihad into a in door arena either full time (new stadium ) or part time

I agree. That would have been amazing.

It cost Real Madrid £1.2bill to redeveloped and put a closing roof on the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

CFG‘s partnership and investment in the Coop Live Arena with OVG cost circa £190mill each, which includes increase constrution costs. The original cost of the arena was supposed to be in the region of £365mill.

The size of the Etihad is too big to be a general arena like the CO-OP.

This is the kind of venue which will host awards nights, comedians, exhibitions, boxing (not always super fights), WWE, and artists which wouldn’t fill the stadium, never mind for several nights.

City's owners spend their own money developing a world class team, world class facilities and re generating an area that sorely needs it. Result = 115 charges

The Rags owners screw the club into the ground (granted thats been a positive), cream off the cash they can, burdon the club with massive debt, use public money to rebuild the stadium. Result = Media wank fest

Lord Coe the fucking twat who made a complete bollocks of allocating the 2012 Olympic Games tickets. He gave hundreds of thousands to countries who couldn't sell them so they ended up in expensice package deals.

Coe and Gordon Brown are the two people I despise the most.

In what world is this right?

Stockport looking to increase Edgeley Park up to 18.000 from just over 10,000.

????? Don't get it. What is being said here?

Just an example showing that some developments are, or partially are, just covers rather than totally new constructions.

The newer stands at United for example still have a lot of old workings underneath which is one reason why they want to develop a new stadium - there’s only so much you can polish a turd after all. Anfield will be in the same position in 20 years time.
