Stadium Turnstile Upgrades

They generally won’t be bothered about the vanishingly small number of people using a communal phone.

It’s just completely impractical for most people and they might “catch out” say 50 people over a year, the cost of the cameras on 1 turnstile will probably exceed any “savings” they’d make.

It’s completely normal for an adult to have multiple ST’s on their phone for kids.

Honestly don’t think they give a shit if you are taking your brother, daughter etc and scan them in, what they are clearly cracking down on is online ticket reselling groups on x or facebook. Up until this season you could have a spare account - transfer tickets to that on a game by game basis then forward the email on to a friend for free or sell it online. They want to resell those tickets themselves and if you are going to less than 10 games they want the ticket back.
That makes sense. We have 2 season tickets. Mine I’ve had for over 40 years. My sons had his for 20+ years. Sometimes he gets asked to work at the last minute. I have mobility problems and sometimes can’t manage the walk. We don’t sell it on twitter or FB or pass it on to some tout/agency. We give it someone else in the same house, who has the same surname. Its not harming anyone and the seat is always taken.

I go to pretty much every game so wouldn't really know about this. So what happens now? The transfer recipient has it directly sent to their phone without the email? Therefore making it practically impossible for somebody else to use the seat?

I noticed the Madrid tickets were mobile ticket only this year so wondered whether the league games had gone the same way.

And if anyone thinks this isn’t ultimately about tickets and legalised touting, look who we teamed up with. A company owned by LiveNation
Would love to know who is ultimately behind this current tech. One for City Matters definitely

I hope City are adhering to GDPR?

It's very important.

Negelct or misuse, if proven, can incure a large fine.

GDPR stands for the General Data Protection Regulation. It's a European Union regulation that sets guidelines for how personal data should be collected, used, and protected. In essence, it's a privacy law that gives individuals more control over their personal data.

If City aren't going to film you and me on match days 'as City have stated', why have cameras been installed on the turnstiles? They won't be necessary, will they?

Could it possibly be because we like our privacy? I am sick of seeing cameras everywhere spying on us. I like my privacy. I don’t want to have my photo/image splashed up anywhere and everywhere thank you very much.
I respect your opinion, but i don't understand why people care if your not doing anything wrong it's just not worth bothering about.

I think the wider City Supporter Fan groups, FSA and Liberty should have a conversation and put out a statement about this.

City have openly claimed on that email that this is for staff only haven't they. For next season at least they cannot punish anyone for ticket misuse of the back of these turnstiles can they?

Facial recognition will only be a thing once we have to submit a picture to begin with anyway. The day they ask us to upload a picture anywhere is the day they are thoroughly moving forward with this.

I thought they were trialing the uploading of photos?
That contradicts what I just said haha, when was this said and or is it happening? If the facial recognition is switched off on match days like the email says then why would they need anybodys picture?

I’m sure I saw someone post something on here a few weeks before the Video Turnstiles email was sent out.

I don’t know how to search back on here.

It would make sense but contradicts the email about being switched off for match days. If you scan the card would the picture come up on the screen maybe? Then you have stewards having to check every picture matched the person coming in? That doesn't sound like it will speed the process up. I hope for our sake and Citys it doesn't become a circus just trying to enter the stadium and where nobody can pass their tickets on as considering we can pass 9 tickets on it would cause a lot of headaches trying to stay on top of it.

City have been plotting this for years but got cold feet after the Information Commissioner’s Office took an interest
Looks like they’re planning on reviving it, but sneaking it in first via the back door of ‘staff accreditation entry systems’. Once the cameras are there and ‘normalised’, it’s inevitable they’ll eventually push to extend it to fan entry

It looks that way doesn't it but they can't do it for next season off the back of saying it is only for staff on non match days. I can see a scenario season after next where they claim after a successful trial they will introduce it to fans? I just can't see City fans, after what has happened recently, would accept being that openly lied to for the coming season
