Stan Collymore - Depression

I hope he recovers, just as I hope anyone else with illness does. Just shows that nobody is immune to nature.

OK I'll own up I am currently being treated for this for the second time and I don't fu*king sleep 28 hours a day mainly because there aren't 28 hour's in a day (cock) and I have responsibilities {kids}.

I can understand what he means given that there are times that I haven't seen daylight for a couple of days but Bluemoon is a great comfort to me or, sometimes gets me so riled that I must post to contradict the bullshit being posted but it is all good as it stops you dwelling on your own problems.

The point is depression did not make him waste his talent or watch or join in people shagging people in car parks (although lack of self esteem may have done). Fair play to him for coming out to that part of the nation that follows the daily fail or twitter and at least pointing them in the direction of people who can help (but I still think he wasted the talent he had and is a bit (underexageration) of a twat in general.

Having a mental illness does not excuse you from being a dick as a person as I have told all my friends to remind me when I am feeling really down.

Absolutely agree with that and i wish you luck in your efforts to kick it :)

oh dear what a shame, there are people out there who deserve our sympathy a lot more than this women beating, dogging, overpaid pillock!

perhaps he needs to get out there and do a bit more dogging to cheer himself up a bit?

It takes a big man to front up to your issues like this and will encourage others to seek help.

That explains why hes such a **** then.

I hate the way he slaggs of city but hes clearly an intellgent guy and does sometimes talk sence.

I think despite his anti city rants he still a human and he is cleary struggling with a real illness and yet, in the midst of the blackness, he is trying to use his fame to help others.

He has not murdered someone, he has different views on our football club, that is all.
You can't be serious, he doesn't even understand the rules of the game he's played and commentates on.

I must admit I don't like him purely because of the way he comes across on the radio. Arrogant, just shouts over everybody, won't let anyone get a word in edgeways, is downright nasty to a lot of people and has always come across as a very unpleasant person in general. Though he can talk sense at times and he cheered when we scored at Villarreal.

That said I am genuinely sorry for him. I've heard him talk before on talksport about his battles with depression, and I am not one of these ignorant people that says "what has he got to be depressed about". I've never suffered from it but I've been close to people that have and have seen what it can do, I appreciate it is a serious thing and it does wind me up when people dismiss it. Wouldn't wish it on anybody.

Get well soon Stan.

After a controversial career in the game, Collymore was dropped by BBC Radio 5 Live after being caught up in a dogging scandal.

However, he has revived his broadcasting career on talkSPORT and is now one of the leading pundits in Britain.

Leading pundit? How is this judged? He's not my leading pundit. Fuck off Stan.

funny, I was thinking the same thing too - one of the most annoying pundits for sure though (so I guess he could be leading in that regard)

-- Sun Nov 27, 2011 4:47 am --

excuse me??

Just another X celeb working for a over hyped self obsessed radio station. He along with most of those broadcasters talk about themselves far too much no wonder he is depressed.
If he is depressed and I have no reason to doubt that he is I cannot help but think he has bought it all on his self with his actions to women and his night time activities. How does he hold a conversation with anyone outside that load of rejects from talk shite.
Hi Stan how's how the missus? O yea shite sorry, So what you doing this weekend? O yea shite.
Conversation over.

Collymore's a twat.

He got me so riled with his Talksport bullshit one night on the way to work that I was still ranting when I should have been paying attention to what I was doing and he made me drop a bollock. I got in bother for it.

Fook you Stan Collymore!

I'd care about his depression n his well being if only he didn't raise his hand to a woman. He's lost all respect, he isn't a model professional n I don't know how's he's got away with shouting at people and being damn right rude to people on talksport.

The problem is that those in the 'media' that do claim such problems invariably leave themselves wide open to accusations of either attention seeking or being 'precious.'
That isn't a judgement, merely an observation.

amazing that two threads next to each other (whereby the illness of the people involved could be identical) are so different.....

Collymore = total **** who some people on here are actually saying they would be happy to see dead.

Speed = a God like character who is being grieved to an unbelieveable extent by people who know nothing about him.

Collymore may be arrogant and opinionated and raised his hands to woman, but has he ever completely and utterly destroyed the lives of two young boys?

hypocrisy on a breathtaking level.

25 minutes and not a single reply to this. Maybe nobody gives a toss about him. Go on Stan, I'll tie the knot in the noose. How heavy are you?

Talk about timings!

Regardless of people's football view I'm apauled to read some of the disgraceful comments regarding someone who has an illness.

I hope none of you ever suffer from anything similar because you won't get sympathy on here.

I worked with a feller once who hung himself because he was depressed. He was married a couple of years and had just had a new baby. Everyone around him thought he was down to earth and a good bloke to know, really unexplainable to someone who has never had depression. Really sad....... Oh hang on he was a Blackburn fan so you lot would probably think it was good riddance eh?

Please have some humanity over a fellow human being who is ill and stop being a bunch of moronic idiots.

Where was Collymore's compassion for the women he beat you moronic jizz rag?

He'll get sympathy on the back of the Speed scenario. However, he has beaten a woman up. I personally don't give a shite about the dogging stuff. The fact that he has beaten a woman up is enough for me....he's a ****, and fuck him and his depression. Wanker...
