Roy Cheetham is another name that's popped into my head, I seem to recall him playing the odd game around that time.

All seems a long time ago now. Does anyone else remember that match at City when the goalposts weren't in place so they used jumpers for goalposts? Happy days! Mind you, we won 5-0 if memory serves me correctly - Leyton Orient at home, and there were at least 65,000 there.

Roy was the very first sub used for City,away at Wolves 65 replaced Buzzer who was sent flying into the stands.

Pretty sure Roy Cheetham has the distinction of being our first ever league sub when he replaced Mike Summerbee at Wolves during August 1965.

I remember Stan's City debut against Leicester City.. Very underrated player. Bumped into him in Bury a few years ago ago, great to see him again looking fit and well.

His Debut was September 65 mate v Derby Maine road.

And possibly Dave Baccuzi,I can just about remember him playing for City in 1966 when I first started going to Maine Road with my Dad and Uncle.
And people reckon I'm a glory hunter !!

That side was fun and, of course, went on to glory. Always had a soft spot for Stan. Not the best player, but a trier.
Johnny Crossan came to us near the end of his career and was very influential in our return to Div 1. A old fashioned schemer. Look up his life story, fascinating.

Played with stan Horne at Rochdale. We were both towards the end of our careers. He was about 36 I was 16.

He was a really lovely bloke. Was so welcoming and helpful. Met him a few years ago on City Square, he was still a very endearing bloke.
