Stand leaders

Some people will just not except that the majority of our fans do not want ultras or Capo's. I like to think of myself as pretty vocal and I'd love to see the stadium rocking every week but organised nonsense like this isn't the way to do it. There's a huge difference between atmosphere and just noise. Bayern Munich for example just created noise, they didn't even bother cheering that much when they scored as they wanted to get back to singing their boring, repetitive drum led chants.

If this allowed to happen far from improving the atmosphere it'll make it worse, I won't be joining in with some cheesy chant just because some geek asks me to, I'll just stop singing.

It couldnt make the atmosphere any worse, its already shocking , i didnt think the Bayern fans were that bad, seen better Dortmund, Napoli, Aris and Poznan were better but thats just my opinion .

i get get the noise and atmosphere bit, you need noise to create an atmosphere, how many times have you heard players and fans going to intimidating grounds say the NOISE they make creates an incredible ATMOSPHERE !

Of course you need noise for an atmosphere but not just noise for the sake of it. Nobody would say that vuvuzelas should be introduced and they cause a racket.

A number of things will happen IMO if this is brought in. Firstly we'll lose all originality in our songs, we'll probably end up with our own version of that god awful "we love and that is why we follow" bollocks before long. People who don't want to be organised by some self appointed top blue will stop singing and where we once had atmosphere relatively to what's going on on the pitch we'll just have a small pocket of kids banging a drum and "woahing" while bemoaning others for not wanting to do the same.

The most memorable atmospheres are spontaneous and can't be induced by stand leaders. The only way the club could significantly improve the atmosphere is to make it easier for groups of mates to sit, or hopefully stand together, in future.

We should actually start every home game (when applicable - night game) they way we did in our title winning season at home to manure.

Lights off, big screen with the Blue Moon Rising and the music blasting - the atmosphere that night was amazing and must have made the manure players soil their shorts upon standing in the tunnel waiting to come out

Something like that would allow us as supporters to join in making the atmosphere as loud as possible straight from the beginning and give our players a massive boost as well

It will return against Liverpool! :)

Yes... I couldn't remember the match exactly, but the blackout backfired terribly last time and was embarrassing for the club, hence it being ditched... hopefully it goes better this time and our fans actually sing!

if they hadn't priced out the fans who actually create a atmosphere in favour of those who just come to witness it for a day out there wouldn't be a problem

Wansnt it when we beat Bolton 1-0?

It was brilliant against United when they had a flare, great atmosphere but got a bit tedious when the club started using it every other game

Don't see the problem in at least trying it... If they can synchronise songs between stands then what's the problem? Ideally we wouldn't want nominated people but it's at the stage where anyone who does try to start something off is pretty much on their own...

TBH this is a result of the utter failure of the current "singing" sections... especially the South Stand IMO, so anyone who stands in there, and doesn't really bother joining in on a regular basis, shouldn't complain too much without looking in the mirror first.
