Stand leaders

I realise that there are different ways to support (y)our team but don't see why it has to be falsely engendered!! I sit in my row, I sing when I want to, I cheer when I want to, I get laughed at/with a lot but I just get on with it.

It's my choice how I do it. The number of times when I am the only one cheering or singing or even shouting to the players is legion but it's what I want. Sometimes I shout out when it is quiet all round me and they laugh and I blush but heck I've paid my money to support my team and I will do it my way. Not with somebody standing in front of me orchestrating me, but MY WAY!!

I was told on Sunday, in a friendly and supportive way, that all the lady had kept hearing was me shouting 'Get off him, you leave our players/Zaba/Clichy alone' and my singing 'Blue Moon', 'This is what it's like to be City' etc. on my own. So why can't we just leave people alone to do their own thing?!!

People catch on, the little lad behind me who is about 4 or 5 knows the name of all our players and shouts for them as well so we have the generations to carry on. He definitely doesn't need a cheer leader/stand leader. He is ace.

How about you go to the match if you want to sing, then sing. If you want to shout shout.
If want to sit down, sit down. Fuck off getting people I to try and dictate what we do. Embarrassing city.

If as many people in this thread made as much noise in the stands as they are doing about this idea then there would be no need for a "stand leader"

Fair play for the club for continuing to fight a losing battle and not give up like thousands and thousands of blues have.

If they want more atmosphere they should drop the ticket prices by 70% and make football a cheap form of entertainment like it was when crowds were noisy.

TV money and sponsorship makes that entirely possible.

A stadium full of middle aged men is never going to get too lively.

Giving up? I've continued to support the club the way I've wanted to for years. I havent given up anything, but would be doing so if I changed my behaviour, and the way I like to act at games just to make people like you happy.

I've just thought of the worst case scenario.

Using Showsec stewards, wearing City clothing, as Stand Leaders.

"Sit down, if you love City!"

Good night!

Was always a battle to be first up on barriers to lead the singing at away games back in the late 60s early 70s, first up led the singing all game

Just have a look at European games theres usualy some geezer at the front stood on a barrier with a big fu*k of megaphone ,The germans & croatia fans seem to do it more than most .The club have tried everything else .may be this is a step to far .if people want to sing they will it wont make any difference is there is someone designated to start it or not

Fans havent come up with the idea don. Its a club idea floated by the club and the fact is they actually think its a decent shout is the most worrying aspect. They haven't got a grip on reality. Its like the bellend who did that guide on the website "how to be a city fan" its just a load of shit don

Don't think it's going to be capos at the front of the stand, but rather a guy who will persistently try and start songs, probably standing up... and getting thrown out by ShowSec in the process despite being tasked by the club to do it.

I think we've got to be careful of fans ideas on city voice. I'd be amazed if rags haven't already signed up to it, and it is pretty easy for the club to introduce things under the guise of "fans wishes".

Ha ha now that would be funny.

Are there assistant stand leaders for one wants to go early to beat the traffic?
