Alot like business attire dress codes are from a time gone by imo. Only certain situations or positions call for formal clothing, I'd say presenting football isn't one of them, similarly most offices I go into the staff are rarely in shirt and tie.

I'd even go as far as to say it's self-important and pretentious. Particularly Spitty in his three piece suits.

It adds nothing to the show and just gives off the vibe that they think of themselves as learned professors of football rather than men of average intelligence waffling on about a slight positional tweak.
 
Coaches and managers have always dressed how they want. Clough always wore track suit bottoms and a green sweatshirt. Pearce always wore a track suit. Dyche and Allardyce always wore suits
I'm talking about professional presenters
It seems they don't care about how they look, and the image portrays them as scruffy and unkempt which then reflects on their employer

What about the BBC weather presenter! Where does it stop?
Someone presenting the news in a tee shirt, shorts and flip flops!
