Standing in front of over 44k knowing you have lost your job

He led the team out yesterday on the advise of the League Managers Association.

Failure to do this would of been in breach of his contract, and possibly affect his pay off.

Some may call it brave, I say clever, pocket full of dough for the privellage and chance to play the wounded martyr, cheerio.

"it does not matter about the game did not mean anything" ffs.

try and explain that to the fans that went down there and witnessed that sower of shit and then tell me it did not matter.

Beat me to it. Didn't mean anything? Obviously your long distance love affair with city doesn't have the same feel that we have when we travel home and away, we expect the team to at least perform, on that day they didn't with several of them laughing as well so don't say it did not matter as it did!

i do apologise... that may have come out wrong

in essense what i was trying to put across was that the sunderland game had more importance than the middelsborough match

and i do know and understand that there should be pride in the shirt every match, but that dosnt change the fact that in the players eyes the middelsborough match had no relevence to the table, nor the success of the season in general.

you can see what my point was, and how the two situations were not comparable

so please dont try to discredit my argument with a technicality that one sentence was out of order, as it does not change the relevance of the argument

nor question my passion for this club just because i do not reside within the city boundaries, thats hardly my fault - and dosnt make me any less of a fan. I have been supporting this club longer than i can remember (no exxaggeration), which is more than could be said of a number of others on this forum

I admire Hughes for the way he has conducted himself all the way through his reign. He could easily have quit after Thaksin sold him a load of shite promises...he didn't.
I admire the way he handled the takeover.I admire the way he got landed with Robinho and tried his uneasy best to deal with the planet-sized ego of a world "superstar" after being more used to solid pro's and journeymen with Blackburn and Wales.
I admire the tears in his eyes at the final whistle. It meant something to him.

I think Hughes is a decent man and in hindsight I feel he has been dealt with harshly in the manner and timing of his dismissal. He deserved better than that.Football is a tough business-but let's keep things in in perspective-there are people on minimum wage losing their jobs and worrying about keeping a roof over their heads and feeding their kids.

Mark Hughes is not one of them.

But we must now move on and back Bobby Manc.Hughes is now a part of our history.
I wish him all the best.

See you all at the Stoke game..

;-)
