Yeah but i think he's more like a central defender playing at right back, like Onuoha, no idea what Manolev is like, but often now the top teams have full backs like Alves, Maicon, Sagna, Bosingwa etc, play always like wing-backs or supplimentary wingers. Full-backs get so much of the ball, nowadays they need to be a real attacking force as well as being athletic enough to get back and defend. Be good to have options, you can go with the more attacking style of full-back against teams you need to break down, or if you want to keep a solid, rigid back 4 you can with the Boateng style right-back.
