Looking at this makes me want to play a Star Wars game but I don't play on PC. Anyone know the best one is for the 360?

(Or can this be played on 360?)

PC only, like World of Warcraft you buy the game then its £8.99 a month
The Knights Of The Old Republic games are the best ones for the 360(even though they are the old x-box games they are backwards compatible and still brilliant games)

Cheers, should be cheap then if they're old Xbox games

Re: Any Star Wars fans

Its good in a way its coming out on this date and not beforehand. The current star wars mmorpg Star Wars Galaxies closes for good on 15th December as Lucasarts clearly didnt fancy 2 Star Wars games out in the same market. Its a shame as been in SWG for over 6 years now and its a fantastic game and totally open (do what you want when you want style) but its servers are old and some of the ingame stuff is abit dated.

The new game looks good but alot of it has you following certain paths and not open gameplay like SWG but has the advantages of modern technology so servers should be able to cope where in SWG any more than 5 v 5 you get serious lag issues. Also there may be guildships but none of the player city and housing that made SWG great and crafting looks like basic compared to SWG (tbh in all truth all crafting in mmorpg's are abit tame compared to SWG though)

Our guild in SWG is moving over together to Tor together, not everyone of course as some dont fancy it, but its nice to play with those youve known for some time.

No idea what class ill be yet. Always been a Mayor/Trader in SWG and those roles arnt in Tor so ill have to do abit of research on the professions to see which suits me best.

In the meantime, having a blast playing Lord of The Rings Online also (free to play, download game) but not seen Gollum (Moyes) on my travels yet

Been selected for beta testing
Downloading it now, is the BM guild still going to happen?

To be honest mate, I couldn't get the interest together.

I've played the beta and I absolutely adore this game. It's a cross between Mass Effect, WoW and KOTOR, which I believe makes it absolutely perfect.

Those who are expecting a revolution in MMO gameplay are going to be disappointed. If you have played the above three titles, all of the mechanics will be instantly familiar to you but will still feel new/shiny.
However, the Light/Dark side options and especially the fully voiced quests that change the world around you are great, and the PvP is incredibly challenging and rewarding. Flashpoints are fun and engaging, and the quests encourage you to group with others which is great. I only played the beta for a few days and have already picked up a couple of people on the server who are great to game with and a laugh to be around. Although the game can be solo'ed through if you like, you will find yourself gravitating towards grouping.

I preordered this game the day that it was announced and spent £150 on the Collectors Edition. It's by far the most that I have ever spent on a single game, even if you include WoW and its expansions. I am honestly not disappointed and cannot wait to play it.

There are a couple of tiny bad points. The age ranges of the players is massive, so you seem to have conversations about how Star Wars used Arthurian symbology to further its lore on the one minute, then the next one somebody is calling you a "fkin n00b" becaue you asked where the spaceport was. This just seems to be the way with this genre of game though, so you take the rough with the smooth; it seems an older crowd than you find in WoW generally.

I couldn't get the guild off of the ground, but if we try to arrange which server we will all play on, then we can see what numbers we get and may start again. I think I bumped ElanJo up to leader before I left.

About 130 of us at least is moving over from Star Wars Galaxies (when it shuts on 15th Dec) to Tor. Some of our members have got into Beta and onto the open Beta testing weekend last week. One member has made a ingame video of actual game play if anyone wanted a peek.

Our youtube channel (its under favourates)

http://www.youtube.com/user/UnityGuild

If a BM guild doesnt get going for any reason, anyone is more than welcome to join us there. Our guild started in Star Wars Galaxies seven years ago but has now developed into a gaming guild where were have a guild leader, a deputy leader (me), a senate of senior members and appointed officers in each of our games so a very strong support. We will be in Tor and Lord of the rings online and till the end Star Wars galaxies. Just PM me if interested

I need a laptop that can run this maxed out any experts out there, oh and forget Alienware they are far too expensive.

Is this set before or after KoTOR? Glad there is still rumours that a KoTOR3 is being made.

There's a slideshow of screenshots available here:

Early Game Access starts on the 13th, and the release is on the 20th. Very much looking forward to this now!

I played this as part of the beta testing process. It's a decent enough game and quite enjoyable. I had to ramp the graphics up a lot once I was ingame, the default settings looked like absolute crap on my machine, this might be changed once it's gone gold though.

In all honesty though, I don't know if I enjoyed it enough to buy the final release.

The CGI cutscenes at the beginning of the game look amazing, by the way.
