I think we'll be something like this:

---------------------Given-----------------------
Zabaleta------Toure---------Kompany------Garrido
---------------------De Jong---------------------
--Johnson------------Barry----------------Bellers
-------------------Tevez-Santa Cruz-------------

I'm with you wiggy but think it will be more 4-4-2 rather than NDJ sat in front of back 4.

---------Given-------
Zab--Toure--Kompany-Garrido
-------NDJ---Barry---------
SWP----Ireland-----Johnson
---------Tevez-------------

RSC, Bellamy and Vieira rested.

Although he might not make all three changes i suppose, but i don't think it'll be the same team as Fulham. No point having a squad if you don't use it.

I would hazard that our Evertonian friend is correct, and they'll likely line up thusly:

....................Howard...................
Neville....Jagielka....Distin.......Baines
....................Heitinga.................
.........Osman....Arteta...Pienaar.....
........................Cahill.................
......................Saha...................

Hence, I reckon the following would do the job:

........................Given...................
Zabaleta......Toure.......Kompany.....Garrido
.................De Jong....Barry................
SWP..................Tevez................Johnson
.....................Santa Cruz.....................

Baines will overlap and Pienaar will tuck in, so SWP's workrate will be required, as will his speed in exploiting the resultant space. De Jong and Barry will provide a base to guard against Arteta and Cahill, while Toure and Kompany should be able to deal with a lone Saha.

On the left wing, Johnson will be able to go up against Neville, who will be left a wee bit isolated by Osman's wider role. Garrido will only have Osman to keep tabs on, which suits us.

If Tevez stays deep, he will have to give Heitinga the slip, but he's more than capable of doing so. And arriving late, or carrying the ball from deeper, he'll give Jagielka and Distin marking problems. This all leaves Santa Cruz up against Distin, I would have thought, with Jagielka plugging holes.

In addition, I would like Kompany and Toure (both ball-players) to step out with the ball regularly.

In conclusion, Mancini will try to take the game to them on the wings. Can't see Everton scoring, 2-0 City. Thank you very much for your attention.

Bench; Nash Hibbert Yobo Rodwell Bilyaletdinov Anichebe Yakubu

It'll be Heitinga's job to deal with Tevez. Not our best 11 as Fellaini who is vital is out. I think we'll miss him tonight, although Heitinga will give Tevez a tough time, if he is going to score tonight, he is really going to have to work for it.

lets not get brainwashed by gollum it's not just you with injurys. No richards, bridge, lescott, adebayor, petrov and an unfit Ireland just like last time we played you.

Ive yet to pick Bobbys startin 11 for a match !!

He always surprises me unlike Hughes could guess his everytime!!

I'd say you've got it there.

Personally I'd go for Richards at right back, but I'm fairly happy with that team given our injuries.

I hope to god he doesn't go with 3 defensive midfielders tonight. If he does Everton will destroy us

I hope so too, but I don't think he will. Quite apart from the fact that I don't think Vieira would be ready for another game so soon, there's no point - Heitinga and Arteta will sit deep, and our full-backs should be picking up Osman & Pienaar, or whoever plays. It's only really Cahill that will need watching.

The full-backs will have to come narrow at times though, in following Pienaar/Osman. If Mancini plays three DMs to negate this, well then that means that we'll be attacking solely on the wings with only Tevez up front. Which would be a bit fucked.

-- Wed Mar 24, 2010 1:20 pm --

what was our lineup in the match at goodison?

....................Howard...
Heitinga...Neville.......Distin...Baines
Donovan...Fellaini....Pienaar...Bilyaletdinov
.....................Cahill...............
......................Saha.....................

................Tevez...Robinho........
Bellamy......De Jong....Barry.......Petrov
Garrido.......Kompany..Richards...Zabaleta
........................Given................

They scored from a free-kick and penalty, in fairness, although they did boss the show. Petrov played on the right, and with no-one to cross to anyway Everton just clogged up the middle, with Fellaini playing very well. Mancini tried to rectify this with Benjani - but he is, as we're all aware, shite.

i'd go.............

.................................Given....................................

.......Richards...........Toure...........Kompany..........Barry.............

........Johnson...........Viera.............De Jong..........Bellamy...........

..............................Tevez....................................

............................Santa Cruz............................
