Just got my pre-weekend City paranoia kicking in.

Does anyone know if Notts County's pitch is small and/or in poor condition?

On a cold weekend like this the last thing we need is a bumpy little pitch.

If any County fans are out there any help appreciated, please?

Well here's the pitch size ......

Pitch Size: 114 x 76 yards

(ours is 116.5 x 78)

Good question mate, hope its in good nick although my gut reaction is there will be more pot holes in the grass than there is at the sw*mp, as we can see its smaller than ours too :(

Im afraid it`s not looking very good......

crazy+field.

Notts Rugby club play their games at Meadow Lane and there was a match there on Tuesday apparently!

The size & 'state of the pitch' is an oft used excuse in the event of failure but it shouldn't be used because nowadays all major teams research the size and state of the opposition's pitch and adjust their training pitch accordingly for preparation training / water it if it's a known soft pitch etc.

Most prem teams prepare their pitch to give deliberate advantage too - at the swamp they water the opposition area approach before any game - even in a rainstorm. ..
It's all part of the home advantage and it's something that we have to deal with professionally - if we fail in that regard then we shouldn't blame the putch 'cos it's our prep at fault.

Bumpy pitches and passing teams don't mix, mate. And small pitches and wingers too. The former is an issue for us much more than the latter of course.

That's why we need to prepare accordingly and select a side that suits a system designed to deal with the pitch size / pitch state issue.
That's why we employ a world class manager and build a squad that has the depth and talent to respond to the need.

If we f#ck up then we have only ourselves to blame - not the pitch size or state.

Notts, what state is the pitch in?

Might be an idea for Berto to get the lads training down at Hough End for a few days acclimatisation.

It's the worst it had been in recent times. Hardly any grass on the main stand side due to that half of the pitch not getting no sun.
