State/Size of Notts County's pitch, anyone?

thanks mate. Hadn't seen that. Not good.

I know I shouldn't worry, but I saw a couple of minutes of the rugby being played on that pitch the other night. Didn't look good.

The size & 'state of the pitch' is an oft used excuse in the event of failure but it shouldn't be used because nowadays all major teams research the size and state of the opposition's pitch and adjust their training pitch accordingly for preparation training / water it if it's a known soft pitch etc.

Most prem teams prepare their pitch to give deliberate advantage too - at the swamp they water the opposition area approach before any game - even in a rainstorm. ..
It's all part of the home advantage and it's something that we have to deal with professionally - if we fail in that regard then we shouldn't blame the putch 'cos it's our prep at fault.

...and how do they know which end the opposition area will be at kick-off ? or do they water the area at both ends ?
