I know I shouldn't worry, but I saw a couple of minutes of the rugby being played on that pitch the other night. Didn't look good.

Most prem teams prepare their pitch to give deliberate advantage too - at the swamp they water the opposition area approach before any game - even in a rainstorm. ..
It's all part of the home advantage and it's something that we have to deal with professionally - if we fail in that regard then we shouldn't blame the putch 'cos it's our prep at fault.
...and how do they know which end the opposition area will be at kick-off ? or do they water the area at both ends ?
