Statues at the ground

At least can we start honouring our true heroes. I want to remind ourselves of the stoic period how this man went through a season without moving left or right

Don't want too many statues, it's a football ground not an art gallery.
Can't have 20 statues realistically, but the serial winners weve had over the years could be commemorated in a wall of winners or something like that. Guess you run into similar problems of who to choose as fan bias will dictate.

So do I. Joe Mercer way needs to be improved and it could be done like Hollywood with, say a metal image of the player, inlaid into the floor and years at the club. Room for hundreds of players.
The more I think about it the better it gets. People like Stan Gibson, Roy Bailey and other long serving backroom staff could get a plaque. Vera Cohen the 102 year old fan could be recognised rather than have hundreds of statues.

It would be great if we could have some sort of tall, landmark sculpture type statue in recognition of our wonderful stadium's history and heritage, perhaps something that captures the explosive power of athletics and related to the commonwealth games?

John Inverdale with a black eye?

If it could give those who walk underneath it a fear of their impending demise, then would be incredible too...

It's not something I'm going to lose any sleep over but if it was up to me I wouldn't even consider statutes for anyone until they are a long time dead.

Success won't last forever. It might even be over already. But if you were a constantly successful club, you're going to have a 'legend' completing a 10 year stint every few years. The car park would look like Crosby beach if you're winning long enough.

If you keep sticking them up often enough for players who haven't even retired from the game, sooner or later someone with one will find a reason to bad mouth the club and that will be a bit awkward.

Kev should be the last one imo

Out of our current crop, if we were to sustain success, and they both stayed, then Rodri and Haaland could be in with a shout once they hang up their boots, but it’s a big IF they stay.

This is what happens when you have unprecedented success in such a short amount of time. Hard to think of a club that wouldn’t have built a statue for Gundo but he’s low on our list!

It will be interesting to see what they put in the museum. Hopefully it won’t be just some old shirts, balls, boots and trophies, but some interactive audio-visual and virtual reality exhibits. Maybe put on your VR goggles and find yourself as Aguero 93:20, Dickov v Gillingham, Kinkladze’s wonder goal, Vincent Kompany’s “Don’t Shoot!” Etc.

They could put together a movie from SS and CP on the build of the North Stand (with permission).

Another idea would be a mock-up of Pep’s seat so you get the chance to kick it hard like he did that time, and you score on a scale of 1-100 depending on how far the seat pivots. best score of the day gets a complimentary ticket to a match of your choice.

It should be dead easy with AI. It just needs imaginative planning, and lessens the need for more statues.

Pep will obviously get one but I also think Trautmann should(I know there is one inside) and no more, not even Kev.
